I have an extensive writing portfolio that uses an abbreviation of my middle name (on my legal ID) and my maiden name (not on my legal ID). How can my displayed name match the name in my portfolio bylines/credits? Please help. Thank you.

Hi Suzanne,
Please note that your profile must represent you as an individual and that all the information in your profile including your name needs to be accurate, truthful and verifiable.
You can update your name by going to Settings and using the edit button. If your name variation is not acceptable, our agent will reach out to you directly and suggest editing your Upwork profile name to match your legal name.
Thank you!

The names do match. I do not do business as what appears on my driver's
license; I invoice under my legal name but none of my portfolio is by that
name, so potential employers cannot make the connection that this is my
work. How do I resolve this? It sounds like upwork will force the profile
to show my legal name.
Your "potential clients" not employers, will know it's your work when you tell them that in your bids and attach relevant samples. You can also mention your nickname name as well, if you feel the need. We are all required to use our legal names.
