VAT Sweden Not registered as a company

I am new to Upwork. I am not a registered company in my residence country: Sweden, so I do not have a VAT-number. Can I still use this site?

Hi Marisa,

Yes you can use Upwork without adding a VAT number. Please keep in mind that, we won't charge VAT if a freelancer or agency has provided their VAT Number. Freelancers and agencies with VAT numbers can add them by visiting the Accounts menu > Settings > Tax Information. If the tax ID that you submit isn't in the format provided by VIES, Upwork won't be able to validate it. To learn more about VAT, check out this Help Article. Thank you.
