Hi there,
I am a french citizen living in Bulgaria where VAT rate is 20%
Today I have no VAT number in Bulgaria but I would like to begin to work
Hourly rate : USD 20.00 / hr
Upwork service fee: USD -4.00 / hr
You'll be paid USD 16.00 / hr
Does this mean that once I will get my USD 16.00 for each hour worked, I will also have to register for a VAT in Bulgaria and then pay an additionnal 20% for the VAT in this country ?
Which will be 16.00 - 20% = USD 12.8 / hr
Thank you 🙂

Hi Goran,
thank you for the reply
Yes I will consult the tax specialist in Bulgaria
So basically I just would like to know if I have to take into account the amount of VAT after the "You'll be paid" amount
