Vat information not recognised (UK)

Does upwork operate in the UK?

I’ve been trying to get my vat number accepted but keep getting responses that they can not verify the taxpayer information.

It’s been operating for over 15 years so it’s not that it’s recent.

I’m guessing that upwork can’t validate UK information?

Not sure myself as im not vat registered. However, they do charge me VAT which leads me to believe that they must be UK registered? (though i clearly have no expertise in this field whatsoever.)

Hi there i have exactly the same issue. My UK VAT in is VIES format and it is indeed correct. Can someone please get in contact with me to fix this issue asap?
