Since you've worked 486 hours, you're not a new freelancer, so I assume you're asking this to help new freelancers. Anyway, one mistake a freelancer might make is asking lots of questions at once that have already been asked many times already in Community, expecting to earn badges that aren't going to help you get hired in any way.

1. They don't educate themselves about how upwork really works, specifically they don't take the Academy courses.
2. They don't take time to create a professional profile with a good picture, a client-centered overview and many portfolio pieces.
3. They expect to get hired after a few proposals.
4. They don't research their competition.
5. They ignore the fact that upwork is not free from scammers.
