Probably there isn't any, you just have to be lucky with that but many successful freelancers usually try sending proposals on Monday and Friday or Saturday. I have tried this strategy and it does works.

I'm curious as to where you heard that "many" successful freelancers do this?

I look for projects that fit my skills and price rate and try to respond the same day that they've been posted. If I saw a good project on a Wednesday, I definitely wouldn't wait until Friday to place my bid. That doesn't make any sense. 

The best "strategy" is to apply for projects that are a great fit for your skills, and impress clients with your proposal and profile. Being lucky has nothing to do with it.
