Why won't my hourly contract appear in the desktop app?

HELP! This is a major emergency. 

 

I've just gotten an hourly job but the contract will not show up in the upwork desktop app. I've tried calling Upwork support but they are closed this time Saturday. My project is due tonight. What should I do? 😞

Rebecca, you do NOT need Upwork customer support. We can help you. Even if it was not the weekend, it would still be easier to get help here.

 

Let me assure you that you do not need Upwork customer support in order to accept a contract and use the time tracker and get paid.

 

Hourly contracts DO show up in the time tracker tool, unless there is a specific cause for them to not show up.

Have you tried refreshing the contract list within the desktop tool?

 

Have you tried relaunching the application?

 

Have you verified that the job is listed in your current jobs list?

 

Have you verified this is an hourly job and not a fixed-price contract?

 

Is the contract currently suspended?

 

Is the contract currently paused?

 

Is the contract set to start on a future date?

I checked and you have fixed-price contract, which will not show up in the Upwork desktop app. Please read more about working and getting paid on Fixed-Price contracts in this Help article. Let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you!

Edited to add:

I apologize for my confusion. Fixed-price contracts do show up in the Upwork desktop app and freelancers are able to track time on those for their own record!
