Working with existing clients

Hello,

I am new to UpWork (registered for years but never used it) I am now starting to look for new work and want to bring some of my current clients onboard to work with me in order to boost my profile. 

My questions around this are:

1. Can I do this without paying UpWork commision
2. My client is US based. Will the fees I incur be more or less than the current fees PayPal charge me on every payment.

2. The fees will be the standard Upwork fees of 20% on the first $500 with any one client, and 10% thereafter up to $ 10 000, then dropping to 5%

Your clients are also charged a payment processing fee of 2.75%  (or that's what it was last I checked, I seem to remember seeing somewhere that it is 3% now.)
