cant communicate with a new hire

I have joined this organization twice. both times I post a job, hire a person, start to communicate and then lose my contact and cant communicate. Very frustrating!! Is there someone who can check to see if my account is active? Can someone assist in communicating with a job a freelancer has prepared for me before I cancel everthing and go somewhere else?

Brian: Frankly, you are describing a client user experience I have never heard about before. I am especially puzzled by your words "lose my contact and can't communicate".

 

Please clarify:

 

a) I have had difficulty using Upwork as a client. I have created Upwork accounts, and them my accounts have been terminated.

 

b) I have posted jobs and started talking to freelancers but then they stop communicating with me.

 

c) I have hired freelancers and started working on projects with them, but then they stopped communicating with me

 

d) I hired freelancers and wrote their phone number on a piece of paper, but then I lost the piece of paper

 

e) I hired freelancers and we were communicating with the Upwork Messages tool, but then communication with those freelancers was blocked. When I tried to send messages, the tool said that I could no longer do so.

 

f) something else [explain]

I created two accounts now. The first one, I was looking at a proposal with
a freelancer, then got locked out of that account for reasons I have no
idea why.

I created a second account, reposted my job, accepted a proposal, entered
into a contract agreement, communicated no problems yesterday, this morning
she sends me a file to view and when I log in to view, my account says I
have no contracts, no messages, and this girl is completely off the radar.
I have email alerts from her, but can't view her work bcz it says "You must
be a member of this room to access this file, contact the sender"

How??!! This is the craziest site I've ever seen. I think unfortunately for
the freelancer I'll take my business elsewhere. Too many uncertainties
here. Very frustrating and a huge waste of time!

How did you enter into a contractual agreement? Did you send an offer to the freelancer? Did the freelancer accept? It sounds like you did none of these things, and that your first account got suspended for some violation. 

Brian, I appreciate your report about your experience using Upwork.

 

None of what you described matches what we know about normal client experiences with the platform.

 

But reports such as yours provide an opportunity for Upwork to consider how they can improve the user experience for everybody, and make things more readily understandable, more intuitive.
