I've been asked to call and/or email a client directly for a screening interview. I'm assuming I should remind them that violates Upwork’s terms of service, since client doesn’t appear to fit the below criteria for exemption. Also, there was no link provided in this text below as implied. Any additional advice? Thanks!

Yes, communication outside of the platform before a contract is in place is against Upwork's TOS. You can use the features included in the message room to communicate during the interview process.
