confused about entering time

I am NEW to UpWork and I tried to enter time manually, but it 's not showing up at all in my time log after I entered it. I also get an error message that I am in 'overtime' ? Help!! I can't figure out how to enter the time I spent and have it show up on your site .

Hi Jemma,

Are you on an hourly contract? Did you discuss adding manual time with your client? Did you check and see if your client has allowed manual time? Manual time is not covered by Upwork Protection. What is your weekly hourly limit for this particular contract? Normally, time should be logged through the Upwork time tracker with proper memos and screenshots... if you go over your weekly limit, you will be in overtime, and this time wont be guaranteed to be paid.
