contract pending

I'm curious as to why the contract I have says "pending" and that it expires on June 23rd.  I've hired someone and my funds have been approved. Can someone help explain this to me please? Thanks.

Hi Leigh,

I checked your account, and it looks like the freelancer has not accepted the offer you made; this is why it is showing as pending. Once the freelancer accepts the offer, it will show in your contracts page as active. Thank you!
