getting paid

Hello everyone;

 A client wants to pay us directly and not through Upwork.  I think that is against the rules- I read about it somewhere but can't find it now.  Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks

Yes, if there is no contract under "My Jobs", you have not been hired.

Payment outside the platform violates site rules, unless the client pays an opt-out fee, which is substantial so therefore quite unlikely, or 24 months have passed since the client first identified the freelancer.

Thank you so much for answering me.  This is a confusing site to navigate looking for a specific thing.

The client, therefore, should not need to know any banking info at all?  That makes sense but I just want to be very clear on this.

Thanks again

You're welcome, and yes, if a client is asking for banking info, chances are it's a scammer on a phishing expedition.

Good to know. Do all legitimate contracts show up in 'My Contracts?
Is there a webinar or article that covers all this?
