With an hourly contract, freelancers are paid automatically.

With fixed-price milestones, you can release payments manually.

Keep in mind: new freelancers often don't understand how payments work and don't realize it when they have been paid. If a freelancer you hired has a question, tell him to come talk to us. Do not be pressured into paying him double because he claims he has not been paid yet.
