Hi
I am a new user (client).
I have already worked with freelances via SKYPE.
I do not want image because this is not necessary in a professional context like this.
The service you provide is not clear as wheter the option "without image" exists. A it exists on SKYPE (you have to activate camera, which is not activated as default choice)
Thanks for giving me instructions to give an "upwork call" without image.
Best R.

Hi Claire,
Just to confirm, are you referring to the video or voice conversation on the Upwork messaging?

Yes
You don't have to use the camera - you can set it to voice only. That is, if you can make it work at all 😉

problem is : to make it work on upwork, I have to answer the question
"enable micro/audio and camera ... " ?
I do not have choice to enable only micro
you can set that on the next screen. Personally I just make calls with clients via skype or phone or whatever. I have not once managed to speak to a client via the message center function (Tried three times.)

Claire:
I believe that most freelancers and clients who have tried using Upwork's built-in video conferencing tool are like me:
We tried it a few times and it didn't work, so we stopped trying to use it.
With the availability of Skype, GoToMeeting and many other video-call tools which are stable and work consistently, we have no compelling reason to use Upwork's video-call tool.
