We recently launched a redesigned client dashboard to provide newly registered clients with an easier work management flow. This 15-week test aims to enhance the client dashboard by orienting and directing clients to their most urgent activities, offering better recommendations and an improved onboarding experience to the Upwork platform. While this test only affects newly registered clients, a second test, launching at the end of February, will affect existing clients. 


When newly registered clients previously logged into their accounts, they were shown this page:




Now, newly registered clients are shown a page with a redesigned dashboard that offers:

  • Work statuses
  • Relevant recommendations
  • Quick tips
  • Help articles 




“For our newly registering clients, we hope to transform this experience into a fuller onboarding experience that shows users how to manage their work, answers their most urgent questions to build trust, and sends them on the right paths to having their work successfully hired and completed. Additionally, while this is a high-polish launch, we have set up a platform for teams all throughout Upwork to continue to build alongside us through Quick Tip article content, linked resources, onboarding tasks, and continual refinement of recommendations,” shares Product Manager Sam E.
