MySQL Slave databases

Hi...we're on RDS and EC2 with a fixed server size from AWS for our application's production databases (MySQL). We are migrating to a serverless setup (elastic) in order to handle surges in CPU as we pull data. We want to create slave dbs of our production dbs as our users currently connect directly to the production dbs in order to pull information into their own reporting dashboards. Serverless setup on AWS supposedly precludes us from having a slave db with replicate capabilities. 1) What are our options for a slave db or replicated db instance on AWS to prevent our users from having to ping the production db, and rather giving them their own instance that is separate from the production dbs resources? 2) Is there a way we can control/hold constant the credentials for the slave/replicate dbs? We also believe we are going to need a multi-tenant production db for those users that do not need a private/unique db of their own data. 3) What do we need to be thinking about right now in order to make that possible later after the serverless migration and slave/replicate db setup?

You need to post this as a job on the main Upwork site.
