trouble figuring out how to write proposal without the experience

Hi,

I am an experienced programmer (Perl mostly).  However it is a dying language so I have been learning Python.  Does anyone have suggestions how to show that I can perform programming in Python without experience in Python?  Seems to not pass the laugh test, but I am not laughing.  Thanks for any and all help.

Jim

James:

No.

This does not pass the laugh test.

Just no.

If you want to apply to jobs where you will need to use Python, then you will first create completely new, unique projects using Python.

You will do so for free.

For yourself. Not for an Upwork client or paying client.

You will struggle slightly while doing so, as you familiarize yourself with this new programming language.

After you have successfully completed these jobs, you will post them in your portfolio and you will then be allowed to apply to modest Python jobs, within your skill level, without me accurately accusing you of being a goofball.

Thanks for the feedback. Smh at myself.
