Second, most importantly, get yourself familiar with the terms of services and rules of Upwork.
- You can’t share contact information with clients before contract is started.
- You can’t take payment or project off Upwork at any point.
- You can’t offer free work
- You should only start working on a project or job after contract is started and money is deposited in escrow in case of fixed price projects.
- Read the contract carefully before starting the contract like price, scope, deliverables, etc., and if terms are not what you agreed, ask the client to change the terms.
