Account Suspended

Please resolve my issue !!
I am not able to submit proposals as it says "you can't submit a proposal because your account is suspended.".
However, when I submitted an appeal to unsuspend my account they responded that my account is not suspended. Please resolve my issue.
I'm not getting a proper support on this. I've been only asked to clear cache & cookies & I've tried it several times but doesn't work. Also, the same issue persists on mobile app. There must be a technical issue then. Please investigate this matter.

Hi Hassaan,

 

If the action buttons that you usually use are grayed out, the Trust & Safety team may have suspended your account. In that case, you will have received a support ticket with an email notification about the action on your account. Please refer to your ticket on this page and reply to the email if you have any questions for the team.

I get the fact that you are getting North Korean threat actors and other threat actors trying to create accounts on your platform, but why woudl you have my provide my PII 3 seperate times, just on camera twice, and still have me suspended.

 

This is crazy.  Ive wasted 3 weeks trying to get my account active. 

 

Please fix asap.

Hi!  I just started about one week ago as a new freelancer on Upwork.  I have done about a dozen jobs and gotten five star reviews for each one.  A few days ago a customer proposed a job that felt sketchy to me.  The customer had a verified payment method and had good reviews.  I told the customer I didn't feel right about going the job he wanted me to do, and he told it would be 100 percent fine and he had hired other Upwork freelancers to do the same job.  I did the job, but I didn't feel right about it so I reported our conversation and the client to Upwork and offered to reimburse the client if that was the right thing to do.  Today my account got suspended, and I have sent several messages following up on this ticket to Upwork saying I had reviewed their community guidelines, and I will always follow them moving forward and report suspicious clients and jobs right away and won't accept these contracts.  According to the message I received from the Upwork representative, I just needed to review Upwork's Terms of Service and reply to their ticket confirming that I will follow them going forward which I did so my account should be unsuspended.  I have tons of outstanding proposals, messages, and contracts to finish.  Could someone please look into this and get my account unsuspended ASAP so I can get back to work?  Maybe this just takes 24 hours for them to unsuspend my account as it just happened today, but I am eager to reply in a timely manner to all my clients.  I think the client is the one who should be permanently suspended as I was just trying to do the right thing as a new freelancer reporting the client and job after completing it.

Thanks Kieu.  I included in my message to Upwork reporting the client that I would be happy to refund the client as I didn't feel right about the job they asked me to do.  This is all they sent me.  Do you think they maybe accidentally suspended my account when they meant to suspend the client that I reported?  Maybe this client reported me because I blocked the client.  I am hoping that tomorrow an Upwork representative will respond to my follow up messages on my ticket and get my account unsuspended.  I know I should have reported the client right away and not accepted the contract and done the job, but I didn't feel right about it so I reported the client to Upwork and offered to refund the client just hours after completing the job.  I have never had this happen before as every job has gone smoothly, but this one didn't feel right.

Hi Will,

No worries. Every freelancer here is in this situation at least once. There are many scams and indecent jobs. 
Lets hope that this is a mistake from the support team (even though the chance your client reported you is much higher). The goal here is not finding out who is right (trust me, clients on upwork always get more rights) so don't take too much time on this. Just make sure you get your account active again and get back to work as soon as possible.

PS: I got some painful lessons with some clients so I sincerely understand how frustrated you feel. The good thing is that we got our lessons, move on and be better. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Make sure to review Upwork's Terms of Service before accepting any offers. If you suspect that a job may be a scam, there's no valid reason to proceed with it. I trust your issue will be resolved promptly. In the future, stay vigilant about such scams. Additionally, consider taking the free Upwork 101 course. Thanks Abdul!  This client had good reviews and had hired Upwork freelancers for lots of jobs so I trusted him thinking maybe it was okay, but now I know to report suspicious jobs right away and never to accept contracts I think might violate Upwork's TOS.  I hope they give me one more chance since I just started!

I received an email stating my account is about to be suspended due to non-payment for last week.

 

The reason I couldn't pay is because I've been unable to verify my identity, preventing me from updating my payment method.

 

It's been 4 days since I submitted a ticket and I've received no updates or solutions.

 

Is this the standard of service I can expect from Upwork?!!

Ive been on upwork for 5 years, 10k+ earning, 100% JSS, tons of reviews, case studies.


Ive never been suspended once for any TOS issues.

Out of nowhere I have been removed from upwork permanently without any warning OR reason.

its a shame, I loved the platform, but over the last 6 months with the rise of connect cost and bids & the amount of scams and spams I get on a daily basis its got alot worst.

Everyday I would report all the fake job postings and everyday someone would try and scam me.

So you would think upwork would try and protect their users but no just ban the real ones.

I would love to know why I was removed.

I will keep posting until I get a response.

Why did they ban you?  If create another account you will be kicked out again
