Hi Morrison,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked and can confirm the transaction you're referring to was successful on our end. Direct to local bank transfers are processed within 4 business days, but it can take up to 7 business days to arrive at your bank. Holidays in the US and in your location can also delay the process. Please let us know if after 8 business days the funds are still not reflected in your account so we can initiate a trace for you.

Feel free to check this help article for more information.

It doesn't work and I have been trying to contact support but it simply doesn't let me. I just got the chatbox

I think you then should write a post about the issue - but not on this thread as the bots on here have marked it as 'solved' and you won't get help. Go to the freelancer page https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/bd-p/freelancers

and right on top you'll see (green button): New Topic. Describe your problem and hopefully someone more competent than me will come along. There's also a fair chance that someone from Upwork picks it up and gets you a real person in Support.

Hello Antonella! Would you mind leaving a brief comment with your so-called payment date and where you are based on this thread https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/Payment-late-Christmas-ruined-Trust-lost/m-p/1489542#M81... ? It would help to get an overview over how many are affected. On this thread here we are getting 'hidden' as it is marked as 'Solved'.

On Monday I received the 'payment processed' email for two payments I got over the weekend. Usually it takes about 24 hours for it to show in my account, but it has been 3 days now with nothing.

Is this an issue that anyone else is having? Will it be sorted before Christmas?

Hi Cillian,

I'm sorry you haven't received your funds yet, and I understand you're used to receiving them quickly. I want to clarify that Direct to Local Bank transactions take up to four business days to arrive at your bank. There is a 12:00 pm (noon) UTC cutoff time for same-day processing. After that, transfers will be processed the following business day. If the transaction still hasn't been reflected on your account after eight business days, let us know, and we will assist you further.

Please also note that bank holidays in the U.S. and your location may affect these withdrawals. In the meantime, please read this help article for more information about Direct to Local Bank Timing and Fees.

No holidays in pretty much all cases. Maybe a bit more explanation would be appropriate in this situation. Serving this issue with a bot is definitely not the proper way. Thank you.

Exactly! There are NO holidays yet!

This takes longer than four business days now and it never happened before. So tell us what's going on here, please

Unfortunately I can report the same issue. Payment was processed on the 15th of Dec. and I have no idea where my money is. No real support, just robotic answers.

That's also pretty strange in the past it was easy to reach support. Is someone here afraid that our money will be forever lost

That's not gonna happen, Upwork is aware that we are freelancers, we build and support the companies that exist in the world (Upwork included) by ourselves without relying on anyone, the truth must be told. They would get into serious trouble because freelancers are used to hustling everyday counting with no one but themselves, now imagine freelancers united into the same cause. We create, and edit all YouTube content, Podcasts, Website copy, website programming, data, SQL Servers... you name it and we are there. Now it's true that Upwork has been changing a lot lately for the worse, and the absence of any kind of information, communication, or transparency from support or anyone else, aside from the typical copy and paste with irrelevant info here and there is a serious problem. My post (https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/Direct-to-Local-Bank-withdrawal-not-showing-in-my-accoun...) has a lot of people complaining about this issue, just like in this post, and there's only silence from the Mods. Any basic question raised by a user is promptly replied to with the typical copy and paste. I would say that 95% of the freelancers who are complaining about the funds are on the side of the most successful freelancers this platform has based on the profiles I've been checking. I didn't spot a single one that was not Top Rated with earnings of 40K+. Most of them have more time on Upwork than most of the Mods combined in this community, so this is no joke. What is happening is a serious problem. I honestly believe the funds will be in my account tomorrow morning since that's the last expected date mentioned on the processed payment, but still, it's a huge and serious issue.

Hello Isabel, Marco and Joao! Would you mind leaving a brief comment here https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/Payment-late-Christmas-ruined-Trust-lost/m-p/1489542#M81... stating your so-called payment date & where you are based? It would help to get everyone better organized and give an overview over how many are affected.

If it will take that much time for EU freelancers get paid, then UW should seriously consider if it prefers to keep an extra couple of pounds from the new retention rates from UK banks or watch an EU freelancers brain drainage. Like you said, top rated freelancers over 40k earnings, with long time clients and their emails plus lots of platforms outhere and far more ways to get paid...

And then let them keep freelancers asking for 5 bucks for job.

Plus the customers are noticing. Got two very kind emails from two of mine this morning. One stating that they 'are very sorry to hear about my problems with the payment before Christmas on Upwork' (I didn't tell them, so they must be following on here. I didn't tell anyone apart from on this board - yet) and offered to compensate me for the entire amount. The other one just aired their discontent that the money they pay to Upwork is not forwarded to their team member and that we should consider 'alternative' solutions in the new year.

Marco's avatar

Absolutely. The same way that there's a lot of scammers out there, so are trully reliable and sensitive clients that really care about the freelancers. I know that in first hand, and from what you said, so do you. Obviously, that they are not comfortable knowing that the freelancers are not being paid on time. It's their money after all, and nobody likes to know that the value they deposited for a single porpuse is being retained. It questions their trust on the platform.

Hi Olga Marta,

I'm sorry if you haven't received your payments yet. I see that you've been coordinating with the team via a support ticket, and an email notification has also been sent out. Please allow our team time, and you will get an update on this page once your case is thoroughly reviewed.
