Direct to Local Bank withdrawal not received

I have been working on Upwork for the past 2 years and have made weekly withdrawals to my local bank account without any major delays.

It's usually deposited in the same day as the payment is processed but sometimes it took a couple of days.
However, starting on April 24th I've made

three witdrawals (24th, 26th and May 3rd) and all of the 3 still havent been credited to my account.
Upwork says I need to wait the full 8 business days to trace the payment (which it means I have to wait until Monday to trace the first) but to me is very strange that 3 consecutive payments, made in different dates could've been lost.
Yesterday I got in contact to the intermediary bank I have been receiving from since the beginning of March and the last payment order they received for me was April 17th.
I get paid weekly, so it's sufficient to say that three weeks of missing payments can cause a wreck in someones financials.
I just wanted to know how can I solve this as quicky ás possible and if someone else has been through the same ordeal recently.

Hi all,

Direct to local bank transfers are processed within 4 business days, but it can take up to 7 business days to arrive at your bank. Holidays in the US and in your location can also delay the process. Please let us know if after 8 business days the funds are still not reflected in your account so we can initiate a trace for you.

Feel free to check this help article for more information.

Hi, may I know how long it takes for the funds will reflect in the bank account (union bank) for the first-time withdrawal? The withdrawal was initiated today (Oct 2 - 12:03am UTC). Colleagues who are using other banks received their earnings, but mine hasn't arrived at all.

Thank you.

Hi Raphael,

Thanks for reaching out! I checked your account and want to confirm that the recent withdrawal transaction was successful. In general, Direct to Local Bank payments take up to seven business days to arrive at your bank. There is a 12:00 p.m. (noon) UTC cutoff time for same-day processing. After that, transfers will be processed the following business day. Bank holidays in the U.S. or your country can delay your funds. You can find this information here

If the transaction still hasn't been reflected on your account after eight business days, let us know, and we will assist you further. I can see that you've also submitted a support ticket. Someone from the team will update your ticket to assist you further.

Hi,

I was able to withdraw my earnings, but I have not received them in my bank because I have an e-mail saying your bank rejected the payment. I think my account is Dollar but on the payment method page, it says TRY as you can see on the photo. How can I change that? Thanks in advance

Hi Berrak,

Thank you for sharing your concern. It looks like the transaction was made using the Direct to Local Bank payment method. With this method, it allows you to withdraw your funds from Upwork directly to your bank account, in your local currency.

If you have a USD account with your local bank, you have the option to use  Wire Transfer to withdraw your funds. You can learn more by visiting these helpful pages:

Direct to Local Bank

Hello there,

This is the third time my withdrawal to my local bank account has been rejected. The reason always given is 'Payment rejected by the bank.' Despite changing my payment method and adding a new bank account, the withdrawal was still rejected. I contacted my bank's customer service, who confirmed there are no issues with my account. They also explained that the bank is a passive party in this transaction, so the issue is not related to the bank. Given that this is the third rejection, I am extremely frustrated and would appreciate your assistance.

Regards,

Mita.

Hello. I withdraw my payment yesterday October 2 8am. All I received is "We’ve initiated withdrawal of your Upwork balance" email. Is there supposed to be another email like a confirmation that the withdrawal has been processed? Because I did not received anything else.

Hello ,

I am reaching out to report an issue regarding my recent fund withdrawal. I initiated the withdrawal on September 19th, and I have been patiently waiting for the funds to arrive. However, as of today, October 5th, I still have not received them.

Could you please look into this matter for me? Any assistance or information you can provide regarding the status of my withdrawal would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,

Hi, I've requested a payment on 4 October and on the same day  it has been confirmed that it was processed.  Usually, it only takes 30 minutes for the payment to arrive in my bank.  However it has been 3 days and it hasn't shown up yet.  Can you help.

Hi Rey,

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing you. I want to clarify that even though you're used to receiving your payments fairly quickly, Direct to Local bank transactions can take up to seven business days to arrive. There is a 12:00 p.m. (noon) UTC cutoff time for same-day processing. After that, transfers will be processed the following business day. If the transaction still hasn't been reflected on your account after eight business days, let us know, and we will assist you further.

Please also note that bank holidays in the U.S. and your location may affect these withdrawals. In the meantime, please read this help article for more information about Direct to Local Bank Timing and Fees.

1. I clicked on "Get paid now", but I haven't received it in my bank account, what happened? 2. And there is a pending amount left there, when I will be available to get paid for that money?

Hi Jangchun,

Thanks for reaching out. I checked this for you and I can confirm that the transaction you are referring to was successfully processed on our end. Direct to Local Bank transactions take up to seven business days to arrive at your bank. There is a 12:00 pm (noon) UTC cutoff time for same-day processing. After that, transfers will be processed the following business day. If the transaction still hasn't been reflected on your account after eight business days, let us know, and we will assist you further.

In regards to the pending funds, you are referring to. I see you have funds under the "In Review" tab on your Overview page. This represents hours logged last week that are now under review by your clients. Clients have 5 days to review your work diary. All applicable time that you log in your Work Diary, whether tracked or added as manual time, is invoiced to your client according to the schedule below:

  • Week 1 — You log time using the Upwork desktop app (Time Tracker)
  • Week 2 — Your time is invoiced to your client on Monday, and they have until Friday to review your work
  • Week 3 — Earnings become available on the following Wednesday

You may want to check this helpful article for more information.

Additionally, I also noticed you have a support ticket, and our team will assist you directly as soon as possible.

Hi, i faced the same issue once i tried using the ABL, upon requesting again and again they said to fill out a form or proof of income after that my funds were cleared.

Do check the same with your bank and inform them about this.

I made a transfer to my local bank, but it was rejected, while the transfer charges were still applied. Four days before transferring, I was asked to fill out my tax information. Since I am not a U.S. citizen, I completed the W-8 form. I am unsure why the transfer was rejected, as I have successfully used this account to receive money before. I believe the issue is not with my local bank, and the problem seems to have started after I submitted the W-8 form. Please look into this matter.
