Don't have access to Verified Phone Number / Not receiving security code on my phone

Hi,

The account says it needs to verify my phone number but I am not getting a code to my phone.

  2. Choose the “Chat with Upwork” option to initiate a conversation with our chatbot.
  3. Type in a question or topic and click “Send.” The chatbot will provide relevant articles related to your question.
We strongly encourage everyone to engage with the chatbot to access the available support options. Asking for assistance directly may not provide sufficient information for the chatbot to be able to assist you appropriately - for example, creating a ticket for you with the right team according to your concern.

Hi Heather,

If you are experiencing this issue, please check your phone network or try using another mobile phone to get the code. If it still doesn’t work, please connect with support so they can help you with the technical issue from the backend.

I am not receiving a verification text to confirm my phone number. This is the last thing I need to do before publishing my profile so it's preventing me from creating my account.

I am trying to post a job and it is asking for mobile verification but the verification code is never sent to my mobile.

I tried to resend the code multiple times but did not work.

My mobile network is fine as I can receive OTPs from other apps.

The issue seems to be specific to Upwork.

I've been trying to verify my phone number to finishing my freelancer account onboarding, but it continuously fails to send me any codes. The two times it did send me a code, it was 10 minutes later and the code was expired and no longer worked. Now it's telling me to wait another 24 hours before trying again. However, I have no reason to believe that I won't just encounter the same issues in 24 hours and have to go through all this again. Ideally I'd like to get this resolved ASAP.

I tried messaging "Instant support" and got this absolute nonsense:

I’d like to speak with an agent. I’ve been trying to create a freelancer account, but I’m stuck on verifying my phone number, I’ve tried over and over and over and I haven’t been getting codes promptly. Now Upwork is telling me it can’t verify the phone number and to try again in 24 hours.

I understand that you’d like to speak with an agent. Please say “talk to agent” to escalate this conversation.

I am trying to create a new profile, I have all of the skills and everything uploaded but when I attempt to get the SMS verification code I never receive one. I am using Google SSO to sign-in.

I recently purchased Connects to apply for jobs as a freelancer. However, when trying to submit an application, I was prompted to verify my phone number, but I haven't entered it yet and there seems to be no option to go back or add it. The screen is stuck on the phone verification step. How can I input my phone number to proceed? The screen mentions that a confirmation code was sent, but no number is registered in my account. What should I do !?

When trying to apply for a job it asks for my phone number to send a verification code to. I enter my phone number and hit submit I get the above alert.."Attempted to enter PIN too many times" (I never entered a PIN anywhere??)
