Don't have access to Verified Phone Number / Not receiving security code on my phone

I don't have access to my old verified phone number and need to update it with a new one.

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

Hello Upwork Community,

I've Tried multiple times to change my number but the code didn't appear. And now it says "This service is unavailable right now. Please try again later." Help me to add my Number.

Could you please confirm if you are trying to edit the phone number to receive a six digit code by text message?

I removed the previous one and was trying to add the new one. Unfortunately, I did not receive the 6-digit code for my new number.

Hi Support Members, I need help. I can't make any changes in my profile settings. When I wanted to open the profile setting due to the two-factor verification enabled it needed a verification code. However after successfully sending the code I did not get any code in my verified mobile number. I tried multiple times but I didn't get any code. As well as I did not get any notification in my profile when a client messaged me.  Can you help me, please?

Hi, I'm just creating my account. There's no verification links or pins sent to my phone. I've tried resending the pin for several times and also changing my phone number but to no avail. I hope Upwork can help to resolve this for me. Thanks!

Thank you. The problem persist and even worse, after I clear my cookies and cache I got "Something went wrong. Please try again later." when I try send the pin to my phone. It's happening on Chrome. Tried Firefox like you suggested but the image verification just keep failing and then I got the same error mesage.

Why is it so hard to post a job on Upwork? I'm in need to find a freelancer for to help me.

Hello,

 

I have been struggling with this for the past hour

 

I am not receiving any SMS when prompted to verify my phone number

It now says "Re-sending PIN limit has been exceeded"
I checked my number over 10 times and it is correct

 

Can you help ?

 

 

PS: the chatbot is the most useless thing i have ever seen

I want to finish my registration since yesterday but I do not recieve a verification code on my phone number. I already tried different numbers and phones, nothing works. Now after trying again I get the error: "Something went wrong, please try again later".

Hello, it's not easy to log back into the Upwork platform once logged out.  I also faced a similar problem sometimes ago when I mistakenly logged out, but I was lucky to get back into the platform.  Therefore, since that time, I decided I would never more log out of Upwork.

 

However, recently, I have been facing another problem, I was trying to get into the platform and I was asked to do a 2 step verification, without which I might later face problems like not being able to withdraw funds, change password, etc.

 

It saddens me to say that when I tried to follow that instruction, I got stuck at the point where the platform needed to send a verification code to my SMS.  They said they had sent the codes, yet I could not find any.  Hence, I have not been able to get into the Upwork on my computer.  I am still on it, hoping to use other options to be able to scale through soonest.

Hello,
I have a problem adding any two-step verification option.
I tried adding the text message option, but when I added my number, I did not receive the six-digit code no matter how much I waited or how much I tried to resend. I simply don't receive anything.
When I try to add the second two-step verification option, which is the authentication application code, it does not work either. It keeps loading and does not show me the QR code.

What can I do to solve this problem?
