Help. I need an actual person from upwork to talk to

I recently completed a job but they are not paying me through upwork. They just message me that I must pay 80$ to withdraw the money. I had told them that I am not able to that I need more time. Is there anyway around this. I feel harassed. I had explained them the situation already. I understand there are fees to pay ob things but I can not pay right now. Please help because this seems funny. I had an email from upwork about the job then was directed to chat to someone on telegram.

I am new to upwork but this sounds like a complete scam. You shouldnt have to pay any money. Dont do it! You may have to report them. I am currently facing unpaid work from someone who seemed legit, they had good reviews and payment verification. But theres a lot of funny business on here and a lot of scammers phising for information and it doesnt help that upwork has no live support.

Thank you so much for your help. Do you know specifically who I can contact. I submitted a ticket already. I am worried because they made me create an account through this online bank called metropilitan linx. They just contacted me asking if I withdrew already but then I had to pay 80$.

The job posting was removed but I got an email from someone from upwork and it looks legit. The email directed me to contact a supervisor through telegram then after I submitted my work there I had to contact someone from metropolitan linx and I have to pay in chat or the site 80$ to withdraw. I already made a ticket to support hopefully I can really get my issue resolved.

The bank seems legit it is from the united kingdom. But I am not paying 80$.

This is a scam. Real client do not ask to pay to withdraw your money. This is a violation of Upwork's Terms of Service to pay or accept payment outside Upwork. Please look at the Academy at the top of this page to learn how to use Upwork properly and safely.

If you go in your phone at support.upwork.com then go to the menu until you see contact upwork and you should be able to submit a ticket

You should be able to dind the chat with upwork link that is what I did.

Stop chatting with scammer and block his asap.
