How Do I Reopen Closed Account

in attempt to close my client account and keep the freelancer side of it, i closed my whole account! and i don't have a clue about how to get it back so please help me, thanks in advance.

PS: I'm using this fake account just to access this chat box.

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the 'Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select 'Send'. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

Hello community.

My gmail got hijacked and I was unable to use it to log in my upwork account because I usually use my Gmail to login straight. I sent message to upwork team with my new gmail and I was asked some few questions which I answered all. But till now I didn't get a feed back and when I tried to search for my profile its shows the profile is no longer available . I am starting to get worried 

 

Contact your email service provider: If you are unable to access your account even after changing your password, contact your email service provider's customer support team. They will guide you through the steps to recover your account, which may include answering security questions or verifying your identity.

The account is on suspension,  I can't access it for now

I made a main account from a different email few years back.
whenever I try to Login/Sign-up with my Google Account

It shows the Error 

Google account g...@gmail.com is not recognized for Google Sign-In on Upwork. Please make sure you are using the same account that you have previously linked.

when i sign up 

and it says 

Account already in user

I have an account that I can't log in with for some reason and so I had to create a new one, but I want my old one back.

I made an account 4 yrs ago and never used it.  I do not have the the login information, the stupid questions, and every time I fill out all the fields of the secure form it tells me that I havent filled out all the required fields but doesnt give any information as to which or why. 

 

I also cannot create a fresh account because my address is linked to the original account.  

 

Nor can I resolve anything because you have to log in to get anything done.  Thus the fake account I post with today.

 

Can I get into my account, pretty please with sugar on top?  Or can you please just delete the old one.  Who do I talk to?

 

Horrible experience from this angle. Just saying.

Thanks Arjay for replying.   I click on your name and I do not see a PM icon/link.  I click on your upwork profile icon for you and it says "The profile is no longer available".   

 

How do I proceed?

I had to create a new account to post this, I'd like my old account back.

Browser reports an error on the page, too many redirects when I try to login.

Greetings,

 

I'm having a similar issue. I created an account with my work email and forgot it ever existed. Now I have an account with my personal email and now I want to change it to my work email. The thing is I have already closed my previous work email account & now I'm getting the error "This email is already in use".

Please do let me know how can I fix this / Upwork Support please do help me in this regard.

Hi, I tried to create an account with my email however it says my email is already been used. When I try to login with that email address it says the username doesn't exist. Google and Apple sign in also don't work. 

I've had to signup with a different address I don't use just to get help here.

I emigrated and can't recover my account


Hello, I emigrated from Russia to Georgia.
I have all the documents, the business is registered in Georgia. I live permanently in Georgia.
However, for a long time I can not restore my account on Upwork

When I try to login I get this message:

Unfortunately, your account has been suspended as we have suspended operations in Russia and Belarus.

When I send an email with documents to this support(a)upwork.com email address, I get the following automatic message:

This email address is not controlled.

This form does not suit me:

After submitting the application, I receive an automatic message:

We see that you have submitted a request to appeal the suspension of your Upwork account.
However, the account you submitted it for either doesn't exist or is still active (not blocked).

Since I can't get help anywhere, I had to create a temporary account to request help. I know about the ban on having a second account. Please understand me. I will provide all the necessary information. I really want to restore my account in order to continue working with your site. Please help me recover my account

Hi, I have an older Upwork account that was associated with a specific email of mine which I closed a month ago.

 

However, when I tried to change my current Upwork email to the old one, I received a message saying "This email is already in use."

 

Furthermore, if I try to log in to this old account, I receive this message: "Your account has been closed. Please contact customer support if you would like to reopen your account."

You are only allowed one lifetime account. Having more than one account is a serious violation of Upwork's Terms of Service.

If you want to use Upwork again, you need to contact Support and reopen your account and delete any other account you might have.

That 'other' Upwork account is under a different email address that was canceled over 2022.  Which I've contacted your community support about several times, like dozens of others. And it DOESN'T get resolved. STILL the same idiot error message when I get around to Phone Verification.  Obviously your'e just going to spam my email with automated responses, and not actually FIX the issue.

I closed my account not too long ago, but now as I have found myself with free time sooner than expected I am looking to re-open it.

 

I tried to log-in with the disabled email, and recieved the expected error message; following the link lead me nowhere as the methods stated on the support page did not work. I have had to create a temporary account just to use the forums as there was literally no other method I could find to resolve my issues.

 

Do let me know if we can resolve this issue.

Hi,

I have a verified upwork account. Recently I tried to login after couple of months and found out that I forgot password. I tried to recover but couldn't access my old email address associated with this account.
