How hours tracking work ?

So I just started my first job and I have no idea how the hours tracker work , I can only adjust it manually using work diary and for the past 2 days it shows that I have worked 0 hours ..
I'm on a long term contract with my employer and currently working in a probation period so I'm not sure if I should be scheduling any hours , 
Any help is appreciated

Here is the help article for time tracker and hourly contract. Note that hours added manually are not covered by the Hourly Protection

Yes, you should be LOGGING YOUR TIME using the desktop time-tracker.

Even if this is a "probation period."

Upwork freelancers are not allowed to ask freelancers to work for free. That would violate Upwork ToS. A client could be suspended for doing that.

So if you are are working during a probation period, you need to log our time.
