Identity (ID) Verification

there is no menu item for verification by ID when I follow the link there is no such page either ... what is the problem please help me to pass verification. thanks

Hi Roman,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

Please also look into my own question too. I have sent a question in the community but no response. 

 

I made withdrawal to my bank account (ACH) but Upwork did not send me any message of whether the payment has been processed to my ACH payment method or not. Please can you confirm it from your end.

I am facing a problem, the spelling of the name in my nid was wrong, I applied for it, but I have not received the card yet, but I have the online copy, can I do identity verification with the online copy?

Thank you for reaching out. The documents we accept include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hi Abeguel Lucel,
It looks like you aren't yet eligible to complete the verification for the ID badge. That option is rolled out to earning freelancers gradually. When you become eligible, we’ll notify you when you log into our site. You’ll be asked to upload an official government ID and meet with us for a quick video call. Once you successfully verify your identity, a badge will be added to your Upwork profile.

Hi! Upwork recently asked me to verify my identity so I submitted a picture of my ID. However, this ID doesn't meet the criteria (it's a government ID but it has no signature, birthday, etc.) I want to resubmit but I can't seem to do that at the moment. Do I have to wait for my ID to be rejected before I can resubmit? I'd appreciate any help regarding this. Thank you!

Thank you! May I clarify if the support ticket will come from my end or Upwork's? I'm asking because the previous reply said "one of our agents will reach out to you using a support ticket". The link provided didn't direct me to any support ticket. Hope to get an response for this soon.

I was just asked to verify my identity and required to submit a government issued ID but my passport expired on july and i have not recieved my renewed passport yet, all i have in my hands are my ID and Birth Certificate which are both handwritten in my native language. could someone please advise me on how to verify urgently, I don't have many days left for verification. Thank you!

Thank you for your message. We do not accept an expired document to verify your account. You can refer to this help page for the acceptable list of other identity documents.

It doesn't look like you need to verify your account yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to users of Upwork. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account with more information on how you can complete the verification process.
