Identity (ID) Verification

there is no menu item for verification by ID when I follow the link there is no such page either ... what is the problem please help me to pass verification. thanks

Hi Roman,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

Hello Upwork,

 

It's been more than 13 days now and my account hasn't been verified. 

 

Also, i cannot see "Identity Verification" tab under Settings.

Thank you for reaching out. It looks like your account is already approved. Also, I have checked your account and looks like it doesn't need further verification just yet. Please note that you will not be able to initiate the identity verification yourself and it cannot be requested. If the team finds the need for you to do it, you will receive an email detailing the instructions on how to complete your verification. You may want to check this help article for more information.

As you said that I will not be able to initiate the identity verification yourself and it cannot be requested. Just want to know even if my identity verification is not done, clients would consider me that i'm eligible to work as a freelancer, right?

I have been trying to get verified for 2 weeks and I am getting nowhere.

Can anyone help me out?

Here is the latest ticket, where I have upload all verification documents for the 3rd time:

Hi, i'm new to upwork and landed my first small design job!
I have all my payments methods added etc... and for some reason now i has asked me an ID verification.

I have already uploaded everything, but the client al ready gave me a review and also released the payment and i haven't gotten anything, is it going to go through after the verification, and it's also taking a bit longer than expected while my profile is frozen.
PS: My nationality is Chile, South America

Hi Juan Jose,

 

The hold will prevent you from withdrawing earnings, submitting proposals to new jobs, accepting direct hires, or showing up in search results. Any active proposals that have been submitted will be canceled. The hold will not affect your ability to work on existing contracts.

 

However, I have reached out to the team handling your case and I'm pleased to inform you that your ID is now Verified. You can now use your account as normal. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi,

 

I submitted my ID document for verification on 11/05 and till date it has not been verified. My location and selfied were verified the same day, but the document has not been. The 72 hours longer post the 1-3 Business days waiting period has long passed. 

 

I think due to this I am unable to get work. Please update.

I have trouble with Identity Verification, I am already submitted My Government issued ID & Visual verification. But My ID verification is still in pending. Kindly review and process my account. If you need any kind of additional docunments kindly let me know. I really appreciate you to resolve this issue as soon as possible.  Thank You

So basically, I've tried to change my profile picture over and over again, but it won't let me because I'm still in the identity verification process.

Now, here's the issue:

My profile picture was auto-generated by AI and it doesn't look like me (I thought upwork would allow you to use pen-names and profile pictures)

Will I fail the identity verification?

How do I fix this?

Even my name is not my real name. The name change is still 'pending approval'.

I relocated to Georgia and trying to verify my location. I sent my bill statement to Upwork support, but they said it doesn't match my location, while in reality it does. Most of transactions were made in Tbilisi (Georgia). Bill statement has my name on it. I provided a screenshot to prooved. But support says that location doesn't match. I have no idea why.

I don't understand how to confirm my location. Support doesn't respond quickly.
