Identity (ID) Verification

there is no menu item for verification by ID when I follow the link there is no such page either ... what is the problem please help me to pass verification. thanks

Hi Roman,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

I'm please to inform you that I was submitting my ID documents and visual verification but my account verification couldn't be completed yet. My documents still in under review for to long. How much time is taking to complete the identity verification. I'm really thankful to you please resolve this issue as soon as possible.

I resided in a different city when I signed up for Upwork and provided my current address.

 

Now that I am in my hometown, I have updated my address accordingly. I was unaware of the policy regarding address changes. I received an email requesting that I verify my address using a government identification document within 7 days. 

 

 

My inquiry to the Upwork community is whether Upwork would check my location address or whether there may be a problem with having the same address. Because at the time of verification, they did not raise any objections regarding the current and permanent addresses. 

 

My account was accepted after I uploaded the same identity card confirmed during sign-up.

 

My home and bank address are the same.

Hi Asif,

 

The request for verification was to make sure your account is up-to-date and secure. At the time you registered, we didn't have to question the difference between your present and permanent address but any changes on the account will trigger our system to check whether this is true and was done by the account owner, hence the verification request.

 

My point was, if your addresses or any information on your account for that matter does not raise a red flag, you don't have to worry as the verification request was simply to secure your account by making sure the change was initiated by you, and not anyone else.

Hello, 

I am making this post on behalf of my colleague and friend. He has an Upwork account that is on hold. 

 

**Edited for Community Guidelines**

He has verified his identity and sent the required documents to Upwork; however, they have yet to be reviewed and verified by Upwork. He has completed the Visual Verification, but his ID Document verification is still under review. 

It has been months last he sent his ID for verification and Upwork hasn't given him any response. Ironically, he has the 'verified' blue badge next to his Upwork account.

Could the moderators do him a favor and check his account? He couldn't make a forum post because his account is on hold.

After receiving an invitation for identity verification and succesful visual verification, I have submitted my passport, but I kept seeing this message popping. 

You only have 4 days left to verify your identity, to avoid a hold on your account.

You can go to your settings page anytime before your time expires, to get verified. But I have already submitted and there it says my documents are going to be reviewed in 1-3 business days, This is my second time submitting my passport. What can I do to avoid a hold on my account ?

I can't submit any more proposals. I have 26 remaining connects. The 'submit a proposal' is grayed out and unresponsive.

 

I am just left with three days to verify my identity ... I don't know what to do, I had already submitted the copy of my passport before reading a reply from the Upwork that  they are looking for a clearer copy of my passport because I have just received a message telling me that upwork is unable to verify my document. I have tried to scan my passport with more clarity by  now after receiving a message about the issue. And please I would like to be contacted by the relevant team before any action is taken against my Upwork account, and I would like to settle the matter with a video call with an agent. I would like to be contacted as soon as possible.

I see a lot of up work profiles that are ID Verified. I tried to look for this option but couldn't find it anywhere.

I think it's different for everybody. Upwork made me verify before being able to accept my first job. Not sure if this is the standard, just sharing my experience. Hope this helps.
