Identity (ID) Verification

there is no menu item for verification by ID when I follow the link there is no such page either ... what is the problem please help me to pass verification. thanks

Hi Roman,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an โ€œIdentity Verifiedโ€ badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

I have done my ID verification 48 hrs ago but my profile still says I am yet to as am yet to get feedback. Please can someone assist me so my account doesn't get suspended tomorrow?

I tried uploading my ID and I keep getting an error.  A case was opened but now the link is gone.  Is there any way to resolve this?  Is there a department I could speak to directly?  This has been a multi day issue that I feel could have been resolved in a 5 minute call.  

 Oh I had that problem.  The photos you take with your phones are only 5Kb or 4Kb.  You need to scan it in a scanner at the Library.  You get a 458Kb image on your USB.  It uploaded right away.

Please verify my Identification.

I did verify my ID in December 16th, but it wasn't verified yet.

And I was emailed from Upwork team like this. "Your account will be suspended in 2 days without ID verification"

I uploaded my ID card and took my SELCA with a smile.

What's the problem? Please help me.

I already accomplished the ID verification process few weeks ago but it's still currently pending. Today, I received an email that I only have 1 day left to process or else my account will get suspended. I attached screenshots.

Hi I'm a new freelancer at Upwork and recently I've been trying to verify my identity in the settings. The first time I tried verifying I made a mistake by uploading a fake profile picture(a picture from Google), then I got an email saying that my account cannot be verifying due to an ummatching profile picture. So I uploaded a real picture of my face and tried to verify again. Today I got an email saying that my account will be suspended if I will not verify it. I don't know if they got my second email or not. Did it happen to anyone too that can tell me what I can do? I'm bit nervous...

To verify your Upwork ID, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Upwork account and click on the "Settings" tab in the top menu.

  2. Under the "Account Settings" section, click on the "Verify Identity" tab.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload a clear, high-quality photo of your government-issued ID (e.g., driver's license, passport, or national ID card). Make sure that the ID is valid and not expired.

  4. Submit the ID for verification by clicking on the "Submit for Verification" button.

  5. Wait for Upwork to review and verify your ID. This process may take up to 72 hours.

  6. If your ID is successfully verified, you will receive a notification from Upwork. If your ID is not verified, you may need to provide additional documentation or try again with a different ID.

Note: If you are unable to verify your ID online, you may be able to verify your ID in person at a local Upwork office or through a video call with an Upwork representative. Contact Upwork customer support for more information on these options.

I can't apply to any position because it ask me to verify my ID. But whenever I click "Verify your ID" button, it redirects me to a blank page. Already cleared cache & cookies but same thing. Also made a report about this to your support

Same issue, have tried more than 1 device and more than 3 browsers. It does not work on Mobile app too. Have raised a ticket with 'Get Support'

Hi, I just got my first contract and identity verification was requested after I accepted the contract. I provided the requested information right away. My question is, if for any reason Upwork rejects my identity verification, what will happen to my account? Will I be able to still working on my current contract? Will I have some problems getting my payments?

I can't respond to projects. They ask me to verify and send me to a blank page (((
I can't reply to more than one project! Everywhere they ask for verification and by clicking on the button they are sent to an empty page.

P.S. Is this a bug or a feature?

I did my ID verification 3 days back & haven't heard back. I am getting an email that my account will get suspended on 24 December. Also I am getting an email that identity verification is past due though I did it few days back. Will I still be able to work on my current contract and submit work to the clients even if my account gets suspended?

Hello, I've submitted my ID for verification a day ago, but it is still showing the "We're reviewing your ID, which can take up to 1-3 business days.
