Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hi  PradeepH, I got a verification pop up, and I have, to the best of my ability, done the necessary verification, but that red warning is still on my profile, which is frustrating, as I currently have an active contract,and need my account in good standing. Could you please rectify?

I have done a verification months ago which was accepted but i was asked to reverify last week.

 

I have tried multiple times to re verify my identity but i feel like I am stuck in a loop.

I have just one more day before my account is restricted.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I'm trying to submit my driver's license. It's constantly saying everything is under manual review. Which is fine, but I can't submit any proposals in the meantime! There are several jobs that I have missed out on because of this. What is the solution?

I am sorry to hear about your issue due to your ID verification requirements. Please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review; you'll be notified if there's anything else you need to do. Once your documents have been approved, you will then be able to start submitting a proposal.

Hi,

 

I am Mrudul and I have started my upwork journey recently and I have received one project and upwork asked me for identity verification. I have submitted all the documents, taken selfie and everything upwork asked me to do. My account is suspended because identity verification is not done. I dont understand if it is a scam or upwork has decided to make fools out of freelancers. How can they suspend the account after getting the first project. Its the end of the journey before the start. Kindly let me know when I have to appear for the video call or all verification I am ready to undergo. Please help me activate my account. I am disappointed by the upwork policy. Why don't they verify the people before getting the project. Now I am missing my timelines on the first project itself. Absolute disappointment

I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this restriction could've caused you. I want to clarify that the restriction won't prevent you from working on your already existing contract, so you can fulfill any obligations you have on that contract.

 

That said, I see that you've recently raised a support ticket regarding your concern. As soon as the next available agent gets your ticket in their queue, they'll contact you to assist you further.
