Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

I am stepping in for Joanne. Upon checking, it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. You may complete the ID Verification process again through this page. You can learn more here

Hi Ivygail, 

Thank you for reaching out. I kept on mind all the steps and rules to upload my National ID, the background was black, the image was really clear and all of that. The point is that I don't have a passport or drive lisence as mentioned in the Type ID list, and I have uploaded my National ID by selecting drive lisence or permanent card and upload my National ID instead as Joanne mentioned and still didn't get verified. Could you please elevate my problem to the manual verification or open a ticket request for me, please it's an urgent case for me. Thank you

Hello,

 

I was requested to verify my ID in upwork a couple weeks ago. I submitted my ID photos, but then the process entered in manual review.

It's been a week with no response from the review process. 

Should I tray again the review or should I wait contact from the manual review team?

How long this process should take?

The verification process seems to be stuck in a loop. I've followed all the steps multiple times where I scan my ID and take a selfie picture. It then goes into a manual review and a few hours later the page resets and I have to go through the process again. Can someone help me with this?

I am a Ukrainian living in Ireland under the temporary protection directive (war refugees). 

 

I have sent a total of 6 documents so far to get verified, and none of them were accepted, and for reasons that actually don't match with the documents themselves. 

 

First, I posted my PPS Number, Temporary Protection letter (the refugee document), and proof of accommodation from my landlord. These are the official documents recognized by the Government of Ireland, yet the Upwork verifiers called them "handwritten" when they're not. They only have forms to fill out, but they are actual printed forms by the Irish government.

 

I have sent papers that confirm I am attending University College Dublin (The college listed on my bio), yet they were declined too. And they were documents with links to verify authenticity of them. I have then sent a tax document, that didn't get accepted either. 

 

I am considering just setting briefly my country back to Ukraine and then back to Ireland.

 

I need for my account to be verified, and I've sent 6 documents that are real documents and none are accepted. This is strange.

The reason why I took this to the forum is because I kept getting replies by email that I perceived as automated.  I keep getting the same "Please review the list of documents that are acceptable for Location Verification:"

When my tax registration letter and refugee document are acceptable documents according to the lists themselves, yet they keep getting declined. 

 

And I am just getting what appears to be an automated list of what's acceptable instead of actual acknowledgement of my documents' validity.

Hi, community and moderators,

 

I want to verify my profile as a poland-located person. I’ve been here for almost 3 years. I have a Ukrainian driver’s license and passport, but I moved to Poland as a refugee after ruzzia invaded my country.

 

Currently, I have two Polish documents: PESEL (tax document) with status UKR (refugee status for Ukrainians) and LLC (Działalność gospodarcza), but neither has photos of me.

 

What should I provide to prove that I’m a freelancer based in Poland?

1. My Tax number document
2. Refugee status for Ukrainians in Poland

3. Bank statement

4. Utility bill

 

I keep getting the same "Please review the list of documents that are acceptable for Location Verification"

 

Help me please, because this story has gone on for too long.

P.S. i will try with another way - adding a proof of accommodation from my landlord.

Hello,

 I tried taking a back side photo of my Florida driverslicense and for some reason the front scans perfect and the back just keeps saying "scanning for barcode" Iv'e tried with perfect lighting outside and in with still no luck. 

 

Is there anyway to send photos directly to upwork?

I am sorry to hear that you are encountering an issue when trying to submit your documents for verification. Before re-submitting, it’s best to take note of the following:

 
  • The ID should be a valid government-issued photo ID (not a digital, expired, or temporary)
  • Do not crop or alter your image
  • Ensure all four corners of your ID are visible
  • The image should be clear and in color
  • The ID name must match the information on your Upwork account

Upon checking, the initial submission was rejected and you will need to upload an alternate document for verification. Please check this help article for more information.

Hi Team,

 

I couldn't able to complete identity verification. When I click on "Continue" from identity verification page (1.png), it is getting landed to the page saying "Choose how to continue on a mobile device" (2.png). When I scan the QR code or click on "Send" button it is getting redirected to the same page.

 

Due to this, I can see in "Public view" page saying that "This profile is no longer available." (3.png).

 

Could you please help to resolve this issue?
