Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

The account is saying action required verify your identity and upon clicking it brings be back to thenpage where I already submitted my documents and says under manual review and i receive messages that my account is no longer available.. what is the problem i dont know!

I am sorry to hear about your profile. I checked your account and it appears that your documents are still under review. Please allow 1-3 business days for the team to review and update your account. Please know that your profile will be visible as soon as your account is verified.

Hello, I have a problem with my identity verification. I have already submitted my national ID card (Madagascar) 6 times and I have followed the recommendations to the letter (all 4 corners visible, 200 dpi, with photo, etc.). Please note that I do not have a passport or a residence ID, I only have my national ID card, but it does not work. Can you please help me?Screenshot_20240801-065324.png

Hi Fiarovantsoa,

 

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced while verifying your account. I checked, and it seems that your previous submission was rejected because we were unable to authenticate your last ID submission. You will need to submit an image of an alternate government-issued photo ID. You can refer to this help page for the list of acceptable documents.

I have a concern regarding identity verification. Upwork keeps rejecting my NBI Clearance (as stated in the Government ID verification) even though I followed all the instructions. Is there anyone who could help me?

Hi, my name is Kamal and I'm from Morocco. I'm trying to join the platform, but I'm having trouble with the ID verification process. It initially shows a green check mark to indicate that my ID was accepted, but then after a couple of minutes, it changes back to showing that no ID has been added. Can you please help me with this issue?

Hi. I am from the philippines and I have been trying to Verify my account for the past 3 months but it always fails. support said that NBI clearance is acceptable for anyone in the phillipines but it doesnt want to approve my verification request. Now my account is suspended (I created this new account to be able to post here)

 

This has been an issue for me for the past 3 months. I would really appreciate help from your support team

I dont know why my identity can be verify? I uploaded my argentinan ID a picture of my face. I complete all items in my profile. and i was working in a proyect. I cant apply to others proyects. Can anybody help me?

Hello, I just got my first contract on Upwork and I'm excited to proceed with it. However, I got asked to verify my identity right after.

 

I submitted an ePhilID (national ID) during Identity Verification as I still have not received the physical ID card (national ID). However, it keeps getting rejected.

 

I have used this same ID to get verified on other platforms with no problems.

 

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) states that, the ePhilID has the same validity and functionality as the physical PhilID card. Furthermore, the PSA recently issued a public advisory to ensure that the ePhilID and other formats of the digital PhilID shall be recognized in all transactions needing proof of identity and age, subject to authentication. 

 

I was informed that upon verification requirement, it must be done within 7 days or else the account will be put on hold. This ID should be accepted.

You can visit your Identity Verification settings page and follow the steps provided. Once completed, your account will be resumed, and your profile will become available within 24 hours.
