Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Have you contcted upwork support via chat for this ? If no, then contact support team.

I have done that already, they keep giving generic answers, no solution, I'm about to lose a good gig cause of this

I checked your account and, it seems that your previous submission has been rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can proceed with uploading your document from the Settings page.

That is a government issued id, how is it not acceptable plus i didn't crop or alter any part of the id, it was in full view. You guys just want to frustrate me

Hello Mr Luiggi, I've been trying to verify my account for a while now. I have tried a lot of times, I've been asked to change my profile picture which I did, I've been asked for selfies a lot of times, which I have done, I've used both my voter's card and NIN ID cards yet it always gets declined, what do I do? Because I can't apply for jobs at all, so I need to get verified to apply for jobs. Please I need help.

I submitted my ID twice, once with my driving licence and the second time with my national ID and both times they were rejected. No one contacted me.

I cannot get verified through upwork after trying 3 times to get verified manually. I want a refund for my payment made yesterday for the membership cost. I want it refunded back to my card as i cannot use it at all. I do not want to wait anymore and want to just get a refund.

I have submitted my Goverment ID card pictures, and they are asking me for selfie and more as shown in the above pictures. Should I wait till they request from me more or what exactly, cuz they are asking me for selfie, " Update your country information" , "Submit for identity review", which I am not able to submit anything cuz there is no submit button on the screen.

This will be the 3rd time I will repeat for now. I have said 2 times before, if someone opened a ticket with me or not thats not the issue. I have said that I am not being able to verify becuase there isnt a button for me to communicate and submit my data. It asks me to verify but information but I am not being able to verify anything because I cant submit anything. 
Check the photo below, there is not anything I can click and submit my data. If I didnt do that in 7 days my account will get closed. So help before time.

I have an active contract running.... but I am unable to submit any new  proposals making me difficult to find new projects. I already submitted my id and selfie but it shows under manual review, I haven't recieved any email also. Someone help me fix this soon.

Hello guys,

I hope this message finds you well. I recently joined Upwork and began submitting proposals a few days ago. Today, I got lucky; I've secured one job and have a meeting scheduled with another potential client (first time).

However, I've encountered an issue. After submitting my ID for verification as requested (got notified shortly after being hired), I noticed that my profile is no longer publicly visible. Is this a normal part of the verification process? and how many hours or days it usually take ?

Second question: In order to build out my profile, I asked of my non-upwork client to submit a testimonial, he did and it doesn't show up ( pending ), how many days does it take ?

I'd appreciate any insights or advice from experienced Upwork freelancers regarding this situation. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi i have an upwork account for several weeks already and now when i had my first contract i get a message that  i need to verify my identity again for some reason. I submited my personal id and it didn't get verified. i also tried with my driver's licence and still the same error. What is happening??? Because of this i cannot use my account...

Why is this process happening again? My identity was validated long time ago. Who will compensate my lost connections for which i paid money??? I cannot continue my collaboration with clients. I demand to be compansated back with money i spent and couldn t use because of this bug

I accepted my first gig today and was asked to verify my identity. I provided my ID and took a selfie and all but now I'm under manual review and my account is suspended. I'm worried about losing my first project - can the client still reach me? Also, I think it's extremely unfair that we're not asked to complete verification earlier.
