Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

I am having the same problem:
"Action required: Verify your identity to continue winning jobs on Upwork. Get started."

I have already uploaded my ID, appeared on camera and uploaded my ID picture on my profile, but Upwork decline on the review...

Hi, 

I am also in a similar issue. Right now, it says in Manual review. Whenever I click on Continue, it asks for the license copy every time, and I am uploading the docs everytime. And the deadline is 09/10/2024 UTC. Will that reset the 3-5 days time?

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced while verifying your account. After reviewing your account, it seems that your previous submission has been rejected. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can resubmit the documents from the Settings page.

I have uploaded my Aadhaar card and PAN card multiple times, but each time my account failed to verify. Now, the 'Continue' button is not showing, so I can't even try uploading the IDs again. I've been trying to complete this verification for a week now. I reached out to the help center, but it was just a chatbot. Can someone help me with this?

Hi There,

Mistakenly i have submitted 4/5 times wrong Back Side Part Of my ID Card. Now the verification is stuck in Manual Verification Review. How i can solve this? Or is this will be solve automatically?

I have only three types of government IDs to submit for identity verification. I've been trying to upload them for over 8 days, but the system keeps asking me to upload them again. I don’t understand what else the Upwork team needs to verify a profile or what to upload if you're unable to recognize the government IDs I’ve provided.

Thanks for replying.
But as I mentioned all the uploaded documnets are government ids, known of them are fake. Even I tried uploading my PAN card which is already accepted by upwork team(income tax card).

Hey guys. I was asked to verify my Upwork identity on the 2nd of September, 2024, through email. And I filled the form for verification, uploaded the necessary documents, participated in the visual verification, a day after the 2nd, which was the 3rd of September, 2024. And I was instructed that if I did not verify in 7 days, which is the 9th of September, 2024, 7 days from the day the email was sent to me, my account will be placed on hold. As it is, this is the last day before the 9th, which is the 8th, and my account has still not been verified. On the page, where the instruction reads, "Show us a government-issued photo ID", a yellow icon with an exclamation mark has been there for the past days. Please, what does this mean?
