Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Thanks for the reply,

 

I have changed it after reading the guidelines, now I have changed it again because it was not reflecting anywhere else except in my profile. My main issue is not with the ID, but rather with the photo verification via selfie. It automatically goes to manual review after doing it each time. Please let me know if there are any other issues with the verification process.

Hello,

I am stuck in a "Appear on camera" loop, where I take a selfie and it goes to a manual review. I have gone through the process three times, I followed all the guidelines for the process as well(Well lit room, face is clearly visible, no other faces in the frame, nice camera etc) . I haven't received any communication via email as to why my profile is stuck on this step. Any help is much appreciated

hi mam

i got a notification from Upwork like this but .Action required: Verify your identity to continue winning jobs on Upwork. Get started.

The status has not changed. I have the selfie with a government ID no place to upload it. I cannot take this to the visual verification level.

Please guide me on how to locate my ticket, so I can find the information shared there.

I sumbited my iIdentity verification a few times and each time it asked to retake a picture of my ID, I did it like 2 times with my driving license and 2times with my ID. Now the marks that were green check marks are yellow with exlacamtion mark and I cannot resumbit my ID which I have no idea why I even needed to retake those 3 or 4 times I don't even know how many times it was. All I want is to verify my account and continue on my freelance journey. I tried to contact support but all I got was to chat with their AI Bot which did not help at all. Can anyone please guide me and help me with this issue.

I am getting the same issue after submitting my ID it says "We'll check that the country where your ID is from matches the country in your profile." but nothing happens it showed me yellow icon of "!". so any one can help me to verify my account please?

Upon checking, it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card; kindly make sure that there is no missing information. You may complete the ID Verification process again through this page. You can learn more here

Hi, I made an Upwork profile a few months ago and you didn't ask for verification. As soon as I received my first order, you put my ID on hold and asked for identity verification. I already have uploaded my Passport copy and selfie which is under manual review. One thing, I have an injury on my face which is why I'm using a mask in the picture as you told picture should be the same as your identity documents. How, this issue can be solved? Also, I request you to please review and verify my account ASAP. Thanks

After receiving first offer from client, I noticed your request to verify my ID again.
After submitting necessary document, it said, my avatar doesn't match exactly and suggested me to change it.
So, now, I changed avatar and just before, I submitted all documents again.
Please help me to verify my ID soon and let me keep working on your platform.

Hello, Ivygail (Upwork Team). 

I'm currently facing just the same challenges on my Upwork profile. 

I was asked to upload and update my account using my government issued IDs, I did that correctly and I believe it says I should wait for 1-3 days, but it's 4 days now and my account has not been updated to normal. I need a team member to review my profile and get me approved and if the Upwork team wants me more information. I'm happy to provide further assistance.
