Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hello it has been more than 03 days since I have uploaded my ID card for verification. My account is on suspension. I have ongoing projects.

Hey! I cant verify my identity in automatic mode, showing it on camera, beacause i have Russian passport, but living in other country. Where i can send confirming documents for manual verification? Support email or something? Thx.

Hello, why does the national ID not appear in the authentication options? Only the driver’s license, passport, visa, and permanent residency appear. I do not know which one is the national ID, so I use the license.

Hello, for the third time I asked to change the profile picture, butwhile manually verifying my identity a few minutes ago I was asked to Appear on camera but after changing the profile picture the attachments appeared with the name "Verification" and I don't know what to do now please help me verify my identity as soon as possible and thank you

Hi, I have recently started upwork, i got client from facebook and i want to take contract from him on my upwork profile. I simple shared my profile link with him and he placed order or create a contract on my profile. After this i have received a notification related to identity verification, i have submited my id card and selfie. I don't receive any email related to identity aceeptance or rejection, so as i tired to contact with live agent bot saying my account suspended. I don't understand how? Can anybody tell me is it a glitch? I'm worried due to this as it's a start of my upwork carrier.

 

Hope so i'll get an answer from upwork team representative here.

I can confirm that the documents you submitted are already being manually reviewed. Please allow 1-3 business days for the team to review and update your account. No further action is needed from you right now, and they will notify you if they still need additional information.

i have been away for a long time

I got email to verify my id and identity, i did that but nothing happened.

 

Today i received email (Log in to reset your profile)!

 

Is there is a problem with my account?

And how can i return my profile to public?

Hello, am currently facing issue with my Id verification, I am stuck in some kind of loop.  I keep using my phone to take a picture of my national ID card . It always says "I cant recognize the document " but everything´s perfectly legible. Not sure how I could take a better picture. Is there a place I can send it for a personal verification ? . I tried for more than two weeks and the same problem. please help me or reach me .

Hi Jawad,

 

Thank you for sharing your concern. I'd like to share that if you are trying to complete the verification process using your mobile browser, please switch the browser to mobile mode or try another browser on the mobile to open the link when scanned.

 

For Android device, once the page loads, click on the three dots (ellipsis) on the top right and uncheck Desktop site. For iPhone, once the page loads, tap the 'aA' icon in the top corner before the address bar to open the website view menu.

 

After you submit your documents, please allow 1-3 business days for the team to review and update your account.

Hi upwork, please look into my account. It is actually an old account of mine which I recently logged in. I submitted all the documents ( Govt. Id card both back and front, my own selfie). Please look into my account, I can't apply anywhere. Kindly get back to me as soon as possile. It first confirms that selfie and Id card are submitted then suddenly tells that one thing is missing also look at it there is no option showing from which I can proceed to take selfie. And didn't even get any mail from upwork regarding this issue.

I am attaching both the screenshots. Kindly resolve this issue.
