Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

One of your screenshots shows that you have to submit it despite you saying you have submitted it it clearly says you need to submit it. So maybe it didn't get submitted?

I did submit it, the button to continue which is expected to be below the verification stages isn't there, meaning they are currently reviewing it...buh no mail message was sent to me about the status of the verification

Hi Ridwan,

Thank you for reaching out with your concern about your submitted document. I checked and see that you need to upload your ID again for review. Could you please try uploading your document again? I highly recommend as well to check this help article for your guide.

Hello RonnaP, attached below is the status now..I can't even find the button to continue and no email was sent about the status...

 

Also the article you attatched refuse to load it says "This site can’t be reached support.upwork.com refused to connect"

What does this mean I have verification manually, didn't get any emails, no information to proceed, what to do? and what'll happen?? give a clear solution as many others have asked this!

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my ID verification on Upwork. I submitted my documents (almost over 5 days now), but the status still shows as "under review." Upwork's website states that the verification process usually takes 2 business days, so I'm wondering what's causing the delay.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it take for your verification to be completed? Any advice on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen any email regarding this manual review of my identity yet, I submitted all the different ID documents I have as a Nigerian Citizen during the verification process, yet I wasn't successfully verified. What could be wrong please? I don't want it to affect my relationship with my clients on Upwork. Please help.

I've been rying to verify my account like upwork requested, however, the ID cardkeeps getting rejected. What else can i try out to verify my account. Pease helpme take a look at it

 I'm reaching out for assistance with the identity verification process. Despite submitting my ID and appearing on camera, the system is still requesting me to repeat the process. I've tried again, and now I'm supposed to receive an email to start manual verification, but I haven't received any email yet, even after several days.

 

I've completed the following steps:

 

- Submitted my ID for verification

- Appeared on camera for verification

- Received a message saying I'd be emailed for manual verification

- Waited for several days, but haven't received the email

It's still if they can't verify me immediately they will send a
notification through my email to start a Manual review and I've never for
once get the notification

I have been trying to re-verify my account like upwork asked me to, however it was not approved. I used the real ID card but the card keep getting rejected. Please help, the deadline for the verification is 16/08
