Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hello pls

I have issues with  ID verification, I tried to verify it yesterday, it's keep saying I should re-verify multiples time, on the process it shows gree mark on the selfie video, now it's show yellow on all and says, it's on manual review and hasn't approved yet, with my government ID..

Pls help me out, pls approved my verification pls, God bless you pls

have i verify my account before but i was told to re-verify which i did with my National Ideatification Number(NIN) that i use to verify in the first place. but my account is yet to be re-verify.

I have the same issues. I have been asked to re-verify my Upwork account after I did verification a few months back. I used the same documents (NIN) to verify again but my account was not verified. Can someone in the Upwork team please look into this.

Upwork asked me to verify my identity again. This is months after I have once done my verification. I used the same NIN document I used when I once verified but now my verification was not approved. Can someone in the Upwork team please attend to this glitch, it's getting frustrating.

Hello Upwork ,

 

Have tried verifying my account some days ago and thought that's the final, not until i saw another notificatino on my screen displaying the re verify 

 

I have verified my account since last year, though i don't know why it's still showing another one

the capturing page is not capturing my NIN, just going back and forth

I can't afford to loose this account as i can see that the verification deadline is today

I've verified identity many times, I've changed my profile name, I've changed my profile photo, I've uploaded documents such as my driver's license and ID card. I've done everything necessary but my account is still suspended for 4 days.
Moreover, I am working on a contract here and am working on it but my account is still having problems.

Please for Goodness sake why is Upwork doing this to me? I'm new to Upwork and I've already verified my account since last year recently they still asked me to re-verify but they are giving me headache capturing my documents!

This practice is just one part of our efforts to help keep Upwork safe. Please note in the future we may ask you to verify your identity again as part of our ongoing effort to keep Upwork secure and fraud-free. 

Before re-submitting your document, it’s best to take note of the following:

 

  • The ID should be a valid government-issued photo ID (not a digital, expired, or temporary)
  • Do not crop or alter your image
  • Ensure all four corners of your ID are visible
  • The image should be clear and in color
  • The ID name must match the information on your Upwork account


Once it’s ready, you can go to this link to submit it. Could you please try uploading your documents following the tips shared above and in this help article?

Hi team, 

 

please fix my issue as soon as possible. I'm not able to verify my identity. Everytime its getting failed even i have tried with possible documents and live picture with the document. I want you to please fix this issue soon as i need to work on projects.

After reviewing your account, it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot or poor quality image of your ID card. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can resubmit your documents for review from the Settings page.
