Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hello,

I am working on my first job right now, and had to undergo the profile verification process.  It turns out that UpWork has to do a manual verification on my profile, and so I noticed that if I see my profile from a public view it says "This profile is no longer available."  Will this affect my ability to receive messages or complete my job during the duration of the verification?

 Hi Upwork support team, I'm yet unable to verify my ID since a week today. After capturing (see attachment) and all those processes involved, it will still not verify instead the process will request I capture my ID again.

 

What could be the problem? How can I get the done?

Hi, I have same issue, I've been asked to verify my identity and ends up getting manual reviews, But I have exclamation marks in every points. How to solve this? Thank you

I checked your account and can confirm that the ID-verified badge is already reflected in your account. You may log into your account to check.

Hello,

My verification process got rejected after a manual review for no apparent reason on the 30th of August. They did mention that I need to re apply and I did. However it has been 11 days and I haven't received a response yet. 

Kindly fix this issue at the earliest.

Hi Ali,

 

The verification team rejected the document because it was not readable. You need to submit a document that clearly shows the information on your ID. Please note the following when submitting your document:

 

  • Take a photo of the front of your ID, without flash
  • Capture the image from above, with your ID lying on a flat surface
  • Ensure all four corners of your ID are showing
  • Take the photo in color (at least 200 dpi)
  • Upload your photo in PNG, JPEG, PDF, or BMP format
  • Don't crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way

Your government ID should:

  • Be the same person as your Upwork profile photo
  • Match the address you have on file on your Upwork profile

I’m having trouble with the identity verification process on Upwork. I uploaded my identity proof, and after clicking "Next," it shows a "Thank you for your submission" message. However, when I go back and refresh the page, it prompts me to go through the verification process again. Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a solution or a specific reason this might be happening?

Hello,

My Upwork account was suspended two months ago. Recently, after updating my profile picture, I received a notification stating: "You are unable to complete ID Verification due to a suspension on your account. Check your email to review the status of your suspension."


Upon checking my email, I learned that the suspension was due to a violation of profile picture policies. I followed the provided steps and uploaded a new photo. Although the support request status shows as "solved," my account still does not appear in Upwork searches.


I have attached a screenshot for your reference. Could you please review this issue and guide me on how to recover my
account?

I've attempted ID verification multiple times across different browsers, but nothing seems to work. I downloaded the Upwork app on my phone, yet the situation remains unchanged. I clicked the button to send an SMS and waited for nearly an hour without receiving anything. When I submit for review and check back, the verification request reappears. Additionally, I haven't received any email confirming that my ID verification was successfully submitted. Is this a bug?

Hi, I am trying to verify my identity, however, the website is stuck at the screen showing how to continue using mobile, with a QR code or SMS.

I tried both methods, but my mobile web browser keeps landing at the same page again as above, showing 2 methods to continue, either QR or SMS.

I tried one more time from the mobile, using SMS, but again, the link sent to me directs me to the same page again. When i used the sms option, it keeps saying Not found

How can I complete my identity verification ?
