Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hi Prakash,

I have uploaded my original documents only, showing first the front and then the backside of my ID. I have already followed instructions as told. I have gone through articles as well but nothing is working.

"I'm reaching out in hopes someone can help me resolve an issue with Upwork  Despite submitting all required documents for verification, my account remains inactive. I've provided: - Completed application - National ID (NIC) - Bank statement (with protective code) - Additional statement without code Yet, I'm told my address is missing. I've attached my bank statement, which clearly displays my address. Also I'm willing to provide further documentation, including my passport, to prove my identity. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I realized I should've commented here, instead of doing so under a moderator reply from a couple of months ago. So I'll copy and paste it here.

 

I've uploaded my government ID four or five times, it keeps getting rejected and telling me to do it again. Now it's also asking me to do the same step. Would you be able to help me?

I received a mail that my id is verified and it is still suspended and its been around 14 days of suspension

Good day Ronna and Upwork team,

I received ID verification today and I completed it around 5 hours ago then it shown "We've started a manual review". I asked customer support when will it completet but no one reply until now. It is possible to complete today?  What else actions I can do now for speeding up?

 

I just upgrad membership Plus plan yesterday and I have 3 ongoing clients and might get new job opportunity today because I submitted few proposal yesterday. l don't want to lose any opportunities.

 

Please help to solve and give an instruction asap. Thanks for your understanding and kind support!

I have a problem regarding identity verification. My account is currently suspended... Everything but the first part is allright but I got this emal saying that the id document cannot be accepted...

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced while verifying your account. Based on the notification in the screenshot attached to your post, it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot or photos of your ID card taken from another device. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can resubmit the documents from the Settings page.

I currently cannot take a picture or verify my account, I don't have the option...

 

btw. I tried taking a photo of my ID in physical form but the camera is too blurry. Is there any way that I can upload a clean picture of my ID without blur? Thanks

I am sorry to learn about the issue you were dealing with when trying to complete the ID Verification process. I have shared your report with our assigned team, and they advised that they have already reached out to you. You should be able to find a notification about your ticket in your inbox and view our team's message from there. If you reply to the email that will also reach our team so they can assist you further.
