Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

I have tried for around 4 or 5 times to send my national ID (It's in arabic as I'm from Egypt) while following all of the instructions such as not cropping/rotating it, all 4 corners are showing and the picture is clear and is on a flat surface with no flash. It's still getting rejected. What else do I have to do to get my ID verified?

Hi,

I have done identity verification, I can see message stated that we will manually do verification but not received a mail after that.
After that i got a notification - my profile is suspended.
I don't know what is the reason. can anyone please help?

Hi,

I just landed my first contract and immediately got a notification to verify my identity. I used the ID mode with my voter's card. Initially, I got green checkmarks for "appear on camera " and "show us a government issued id". However, I checked back now and the green has changed to a yellow caution mark. 

 

Please I need help. What does the changed status mean?

I live in USA. For identity verification I uploaded my passport which is from different country (I don't have a driver's license). The verifivation went into manual review process and for that I can't apply to jobs. I did not receive any email after uploading the documents. What should I do at this point?

Reopen you email than find out what you want to do after that open up work than follow all instructions you will see

Hello,
I've tried 3 times to verify my identity with 3 different IDs (ID card, passport and driver's license) and it still doesn't work. Now I've been informed of a "manual review" but I haven't received any email or explanation of why it didn't work and what to do next...
Could someone please help me...?

Hey, thank you for your answer! They don't accept my documents and they don't explain why!

They refused again my driver licence... With no explanation... Fifth time I tried. I don't know what to do anymore and there is no one to speak with. No one care about it...

I have initiated the verification process & there is a manual process that has been triggered. How can i get this resolved with minimal or no followups.

Hi,

 

I've been trying to verify my ID for 3 days now.

I've used multiple devices (the newest phones) to do this but it always says after doing all the pictures from ID and selfie:

"we didn't receive your information yet" 

Connection error.

Which is strange because I have perfect interenet connection. Wifi and 4G.

My settings to allow camera are on. 

Can someone help me out? I've tried to send a ticket but it's not clear to me if it has worked...

I have probable clients here who want to connect with me so it would be lovely to have it done asap.

There is a message says Action required: Verify your identity to continue winning jobs on Upwork although I submitted all the documents required and in the identity verification all the points are yellow and it's in the manual review. Please help.

I have also created the Upwork Agency Plus Account with my Freelancer account. I tried inviting my team members to join my team as a member. 

However, the screen says an error that the person sending the invite doesn't have enough permissions.
I am the only person in that Agency Plus account. 
I am unable to send invites to other team members. 
Also, even after submitting the documents and completing video profile verification, the status still says to complete verification. 
Can anyone help me with this? I need to send invites to my team members and build profiles.

I submitted my drivers license and a picture to be put under review as I was told I was required to do. Its been 2 days and there is no sign that it is still under review in the support requests section. When I open the alert on the top of the website that notifies me about the required action, it says, "get started" as in if I never even submitted my pictures. Can I get a confirmation that it is still under review? I have also changed my profile picture which was another required action but the alert is still at the top of my screen saying I must change my profile picture. Will these go away, and when will I be able to utilize my account again? Thanks.

I have over 90 connects on upwork. i have just started using it and also uplded the required id and pic. but, Now I cant submit a proposal.  I can just the job but "Apply now" option is not working. i need help from someone, please?

I received a job offer today morning and i was working on it. In the mean time i checked my profile and it was asking me to verify my identity. So I proceeded with identity verification and completed all the steps. It said the identity needs to be reviewed manually so it might take 1-3 business days. But soon after in the evening when i tried to apply for other jobs, the apply option was disabled and when i contacted the customer support via chat, it said that my accound was suspended.

 

But under the identity verification section, it still says that my Identity is under manual verification and I'm still holding a job and continuing the work. 

 

There was a slight space (" ") match issue with my Upwork Username and Identification Document name, I've also corrected it. Please look into it. My name is actually registered as "Sai Sibanshu Mohanty" in the documents but mostly I use "Saisibanshu Mohanty" on non official places. But now I've updated the Name in Upwork to match the Name in the original documents of mine.

 

Please help me with this.

Hi, 
After recivening my first job Upwork ased me to verifiy my identity, I went to do it with my National ID because it's all I have as I do not have passport or drive's license, But the issue is that there's no option in the ID Type option called National. Please help ASAP
