Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

please i need urgent assistance as i have proposals i submitted and was taking interviews, but they said my profile is no more visible to them and want to end the interview.

Hello, I would like to ask for help with an identity verification issue. I have uploaded my ID card, but it has not been verified and there is still a yellow exclamation mark icon. Please kindly check attachment included.

 

How long will this verification take? Because it has been 3 days since I uploaded it and it has tried several times until finally the continue button is no longer appear on the verification page.

 

I have completed one project and a weekly review has also been sent via email from Upwork.

Please help me with this issue.

hello there,

 

I just created my profile on upwork i.e 3,4 days ago and I recently got a job and suddenly an instruction received to verify my identity , I submitted my document but its showing we have started manual review. now I can't apply to any other job ,the apply now button is disabled . Now the worst part is that when I contacted customer support they says that you account is suspended, why? I dont know anything atleast I should know any one reason. kindly respond if any one can help.

I checked and it appears that your account has been placed on hold until you verify it. I see that you have already submitted the ID  documents. The relevant team will review and update your account as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.

I am new on upwork, i have succufully completed my task. But after my apply noe button is grey. please help me to solve my issue. and i my ID card also not accepted till 11 september.

Hi Khurram,

 

I see that your account has been limited while we wait for you to verify it. It seems that your previous ID submission has been rejected. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can resubmit the documents from the Settings page.

I recently secured my first job on the platform and was prompted to complete identity verification. I’ve tried verifying my account  using my National ID (NIC), but it hasn’t gone through. my account seems to be suspended, and my profile is no longer visible to the public and maybe also to my client. I need to start working on this project as soon as possible, but I haven’t received any communication regarding the issue. The identity verification page indicates that a manual review is in progress.

Could someone help with this issue?

Same here. Tried with both passport and drivers licence. Probably taken over 20 photos, but it seems the app (that I had to download for this purpose) is not working. I have given up

Hello! I submitted my identity verification on 13th September. I tried at first with uploading my passport but it didn't let me, it couldn't recognize the document apparently. After that, I tried with my driving license, twice, and after that I uploaded my selfie. Today is 16th September and I still haven't been verified. Can someone tell me what's the issue?

Hi All,

 

I cannot verify my identity it shows Upwork has sent me an email for ID verification to my email.
But I have not received any email. I have both the accounts agency and a freelancer.

 

And the other thing is that I cannot apply for any jobs, that button is blur for me.

Hello Abba,

 

I checked your account and the "Apply Now" button is grayed out as your documents for ID Verification requirements are still under manual review. Our team will review and update your account as soon as possible. You will be notified of their message in case they need further information from you. Once your submitted documents are accepted, you will then be able to submit a proposal without any issues.
