Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hello, 

I am new to upwork. I have accepted a contract and I was supposed to start but was asked to verify identity. I uploaded PAN CARD, grabbed selfie and followed other steps. Instead, my profile has been suspended. Filed a suspension appeal. I need to sort this out asap. Please help !!!!!!

Yes , I have tried too many times but failed. I uploaded all documents and this interface showed.

Sorry sir i have made a mistake unfortunetly. but now i have cleared it.

now i delet my previous account i dont have an idea that hows it created but my authentic account is this  now i again submit my information very carefully. Please Sir Verified My  This account.

I've submitted my Driver's license and selfie several times. Then it goes for manual review. But the system asks again for submission of Govt approved ID and selfie. Please resolve the issue.

Have you tried submitting your Passport instead of the driver's license? I noticed "passport" was marked as "recommended" on the identity verification page.

I am currently struggling with profile verification.

 

I initially tendered my Voters card but it was rejected. My National ID card (NIN) is not being captured by the Upwork camera feature.

 

Since I only have these two government issued IDs, how am I supposed to verify my profile?

 

Meanwhile, Upwork has suspended my account, making the whole thing deeply distressing.

 

I need a solution!

Hi Zainab,

 

I checked and saw that the submitted document was rejected. Please submit a valid document for verification. You will need to take a picture of your government-issued ID in order to verify your identity. The acceptable forms of ID vary by country and will be listed on the form.

  • This ID must include your picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address, with the exception of passports, which don't need your address
  • The documents we accept include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Note that we cannot accept:

  • Student IDs, employee IDs, library cards, handwritten IDs, temporary IDs, photocopied IDs, military IDs, and health cards.

The ID I submitted is my National ID, can I know the specific reason the
card got rejected?
Secondly, after the verification, will the suspension on my account be
lifted?

This has not been easy for me, please I really need your help!

I pointed the camera at my passport many times as you asked me, but the system did not scan my passport. What else should I do to verify my identity?
