Identity Verification is under Manual Review

Hi. I am stuck in some kind of loop. I have received several requests to verify my identity yesterday and today. I keep using my phone to take a picture of the front and back of my drivers license and then do a quick selfie. It always says "thanks for your submission" and then it says it's undergoing a manual review. A few hours later I get another request to do it all over again. 


I think I've subitted it 5 or 6 times. Should I be doing something different? Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?

Hello Adrian,

 

I am sorry to hear about the issue you encountered when trying to complete the ID verification process. In some cases, if you try to submit a document from the list and we can't automatically verify your submission, it will undergo a manual review process. If this happens, please allow 1-3 days for the team to finish their review. 

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it's unexpired and valid. You may need to try multiple times and this will also trigger a manual review process. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. Acceptable documents include a passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

Hi. 🙂

I got hired two days ago, and an identity verification request popped up, which I've done correctly to the best of my knowledge, but it says under manual review for a few days now, and my client needs me verified before we continue with the rest of the project.

 

Is there a way to expedite the process, as this is a huge halt to my ongoing project.

I am not able to verify my document even after multiple attempts.

 

I have tried Aadhar card, Pan card and driver's license, none of them have been approved in manual verification.

 

Can you please let me know how I can complete my ID verification process?

Hello i'm for Ukraine and every time when i use my passport or driver card for verification i  see the same  messages(we coulden't recognize your document).I'm tired play with lights ,with corners or with  documetns. Help me pls

Today is the second time I have been asked to verify my account on Upwork. I have tried to upload my official document, valid nationwide in my country, and up-to-date. Following the instructions provided, with a different background, nothing covering the information on the ID. Everything is in order. When I upload the images supposedly for automatic verification, they do not load; it seems they do not recognize me. I have been through this process more than five times already, and I would like to request a manual verification. However, when I upload the photos, it does not lead to a manual verification either; it just stays on the screen where it says error in recognition.I need your help to resolve this soon.

My problem is that when I verify my account, it allows you to scan QR codes and send text messages to verify your account. Once I scan the QR code on my phone, it directs me to scan the QR code again for account verification and text messages. same thing in the text message; it routes me to the link where I can just scan and receive text. It repeats the process; there is no chance to upload any files or meet any requirements to verify my account.

I attempted to verify my ID over a week ago. It accepted my state ID, but did not accept my picture.  It also did not provide a link for the video verification and now my ID is no longer there.  I just have the red bar at the top of my profile that leads to nowhere.  When I attempted to find support, tried to submit a ticket, I received the error below.

I have tried for around 4 or 5 times to send my national ID (It's in arabic as I'm from Egypt) while following all of the instructions such as not cropping/rotating it, all 4 corners are showing and the picture is clear and is on a flat surface with no flash. It's still getting rejected. What else do I have to do to get my ID verified?

Hi,

I have done identity verification, I can see message stated that we will manually do verification but not received a mail after that.
After that i got a notification - my profile is suspended.
I don't know what is the reason. can anyone please help?
