Hi Team,
Today I got my Identity Verification tab in my settings, I have a few questions: -
Q.1) I don't have any last legal name so how are you guys gonna verify my Identity?
Q.2) In my UpWork profile, my current name is "Tushar Sharma", but legally I don't have a last name so what should I do next to get my UpWork Account Verified?
Q.3) My last name in my UpWork profile i.e. "Sharma" is used by me because it was required by UpWork account registration
Let me know your thoughts on it.

Hi Tushar,
If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.
Freelancers requested to submit identification documents should submit any of the documents listed during the verification process. Note that the list is different for each country.
If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it’s unexpired and valid. This will trigger a manual review process. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.
Please note that your profile must represent you as an individual and that all the information in your profile, including your profile photo, needs to be accurate, truthful, and verifiable. We understand you may have provided a name and/or picture that you would like to update now. If that’s the case, and you’re being asked to verify your identity now, please proceed with submitting your ID and completing your Visual Verification anyways. If there is any issue or mismatch, our team will reach out to you directly to assist you.
Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.
If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

Thanks for your response, as you can see in the below photo only options available are passport and visa and I don't have both in Egypt, there is no option for a national ID ?!

Hi team!
So Ive been working with Upwork now and I haven't got a job yet because it says my identity isn't verified.
I have a legal Governmental issued ID & a valid driving license but i have no passport yet. The only options to complete the verification is the passport.
How shall I pass the verification step?

I checked with the verification, and they confirmed that you can still select the option to add a passport but upload the document you have available to submit for verification.

I am trying to upload my passport to verify my ID as it is the only option in the list but it returns that my passport expired noting that the renewal is on another page but the system doesn't allow me to upload it to check.

I'm sorry if you're having difficulties verifying your ID. Please know that If the system is rejecting your ID, it means the submission was denied. I can confirm that the team handling the review has enabled your option to resubmit. Once you are ready to resubmit, you may access your Upwork account Settings and click the Identity Verification tab to continue.

Hi,
I'm a Sri Lankan citizen and as of 2023 August 20th, my driver's license has been expired. As of the current Sri Lanka's economic status they don't issue new driving licenses to every people in the country who are required to have one, but instead they issue a temporary license which is valid for 1 year or more. And no I don't have a passport as of right now.
Problem that I'm facing is that expired driving licenses are not accepted when I upload, temporary driving license is not accepted in the form and government issued National ID is not accepted because it is in Sinhala language.
I tried to use the chat support to get help, but it wasn't helpful at all. I would love if someone who works at upwork support could help me with this issue that I'm facing.

The first problem was that I couldn't prove that my profile picture matched my ID card, and even after I changed the profile picture, I'm still getting the same response("After review, we have determined that your profile photo does not meet Upwork requirements. Update your photo."). Can you help me verify the account?

I'm currently in that contact loop mentioned by other Upwork members. I've been a member for some years now and recently whenever I log in, it's asking for ID verification which was done already some years ago. In any case while trying to comply and do that verification again, the system is not accepting my ID. I remember this issue, I had it when I first signed up. It requires customer support assistance. But how do you contact them in 2023? No problem back in 2020!

My citizenship is in my own native language (Nepali). But can not verified. Back of citizenship is is English but back side does not contains the photo. I have attached the both side here. But I can only upload one side while verifying.
