Identity Verification

Hey. After getting my first job, I can't apply for any job! The "Apply now" button is disabled. I have 28 connects.
Also my public profile saying: "Profile no longer available".

Hi all,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.

 

In addition, if you are having trouble completing the verification process, please ensure that your mobile browser is in mobile view to proceed smoothly with the verification. Also, please ensure that you allow us to access your camera by turning the permission on. For your guidance, please see the details below:
 

For Google Chrome

  • On the left of your address bar, tap Camera or Microphone. These icons only appear if you previously changed your camera and microphone permissions for the site. Turn Permissions on or off.

For Safari

  • Go to Settings on your device. Scroll down and open the Safari tab. Ensure Camera & Microphone are set to Allow.

 

Tips to capture an image:

  • Take the photo of the ID from above, with the ID lying on a flat, dark surface
  • Don’t cover up any part of the ID or your face
  • Leave margins on all sides of the image
  • Don’t use a flash

Hello, I am a citizen of Uzbekistan. I received a notification that in order to continue accepting orders, I need to verify my account. I am ready to verify and have tried several times to do so using my passport, but an error keeps appearing that the system does not recognize my document. How can this issue be resolved? I currently have a contract that needs to be completed by October 6, so I want to verify my account as soon as possible.

I have checked this with our assigned team and was advised that they will send you an email with further instructions on how you can resolve the issue in verifying your identity. Could you please try checking your registered email address? You should be able to find a notification about your ticket in your inbox and view our team's message from there.

Hello,

I recently set up a new account and there is a new ID verifacation step. I followed the link and was sent another link to my phone, I was able to upoad my ID. Althought the visual detection technology upwrk is using is not very good, it seems to struggle with sensing the edges of the document. Second when I placed my face in the circle it asks me to smile and it just sts there and cant take a picture. After 3 attempts it goes to manual, then I take one just fine and hit upload. Then it resets back to the first page and asks for my ID again.

 

When I go to the AI support it asks me to explain my issue, then sends me **Edited for Community Guidelines** articls that dont address the issue and goes in circles asking my to explain the issue again and angain and again. There is no support number, not event for 1 person. I see there are issues where others need support and want a call and upwork does not provide customer support ,just articles for self help.

 

can any one solve the issue of the identity erifacation? I could just email the information over easily.

"Recently, I changed my name from Malik Abul Hassan to AbulHassan. The problem is that when I scan the QR code for ID verification, it takes me to the same page, and I'm unable to proceed to the next step."

So I got my first offer this morning, and Upwork prompted me for identity verification. I submitted my ID, and it looks like it went to manual review and will take up to 5 days.

 

I have 2 more offers, but they are not able to be sent because of this verification pending. Can you please expedite this? I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity due to Upwork issues.

 

I am really looking forward to resolving this.

I understand your frustration! Unfortunately, Identification verification might take some time. I propose contacting Upwork Support with an urgent request to expedite your assessment. Meanwhile, keep your clients updated on this issue. Good Luck!

The system takes the front of my dl with no problem, but when i try the back it says it cannot find it. My dl is new, undamaged or distorted. I see others have had the same issue. What is the resolution or workaround for this issue?

Hi,

I rarely use Upwork since I usually got long term contracts from other sources like head hunters, consulting firms, friends, etc. Last September was the last month of my last project so I opened Upwork again after 2 years and paid for the plus membership. I've sent proposals for some jobs, some even with boosted connects. I also activated the availability badge. Then all of the sudden I got blocked and need to verify my identification. All those connects went out the drain for something that wasn't my fault. Can I hope to get them back?

I recently added my primary billing method but I used my Uncle's card (with his permission ofcourse). Then I got the prompt to verify my ID but the name of my uncle is showing. I can't seem to change the name, my  card is still in the process and will be recieved in 3 to 4 business days. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. My account has also been blocked.
