Identity Verification

Hey. After getting my first job, I can't apply for any job! The "Apply now" button is disabled. I have 28 connects.
Also my public profile saying: "Profile no longer available".

Hi all,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.

 

In addition, if you are having trouble completing the verification process, please ensure that your mobile browser is in mobile view to proceed smoothly with the verification. Also, please ensure that you allow us to access your camera by turning the permission on. For your guidance, please see the details below:
 

For Google Chrome

  • On the left of your address bar, tap Camera or Microphone. These icons only appear if you previously changed your camera and microphone permissions for the site. Turn Permissions on or off.

For Safari

  • Go to Settings on your device. Scroll down and open the Safari tab. Ensure Camera & Microphone are set to Allow.

 

Tips to capture an image:

  • Take the photo of the ID from above, with the ID lying on a flat, dark surface
  • Don’t cover up any part of the ID or your face
  • Leave margins on all sides of the image
  • Don’t use a flash

Hi,

I am unable to complete the verification process. Ever since I have created this profile, I have tried all the documents, multiple browers and multiple devices for the verification purpose and I have been rejected all the times. I have followed all the given rules and instructions clearly but still, I am unable to verify myself.

I have left two messages over here as well on the community forum. Moderators did replied to me but the solution didn't helped. What should I do?

Hi Prakash,

 

I checked and saw that your document was rejected because some details on your ID are blurred and unclear. The verification team requires that you resubmit a clear document that they can review. Please make sure to check the information shared here on how to upload your government ID.

I checked your account and it seems that your previous ID submission has been rejected. To complete your verification more efficiently, you can refer to the tips section on this help page. You can resubmit the documents from the Settings page.

Hi Upwork,

I created my account last month and it has been suspended due to reasons unknown. I filed an appeal and was said to watch some tutorial video, did that and then nothing happened. Now, I am stuck in a loop of 'To remove suspension, verify your identity' and 'You are unable to complete ID verification due to a suspension on your account'.

Could you help me with it?

Hi Joanne,

This is the message I recieved:

'The verification process is simple and should take no more than five minutes. All you need to do is upload some documents as instructed in the email you received from Upwork titled "Action required: verify your identity", or follow the instructions in your account.
 
Until you verify your identity, we’ve placed restrictions on your account that limit what you can do on Upwork. While restricted, you won’t be able to submit new proposals or engage in new contracts.'

But as I told, I am stuck in loop of 'To remove suspenions, verify your Identity' and 'You can't verify your identity because your profile is suspended'. And receiving no mail is not helping much.

On the mobile QR code scanning page for identity verification, clicking the 'Continue with Google' option does not redirect. I need to go to the community to ask what's going on.

Hello

I am trying to complete my verification process and the only step pending is the photo click and upload.

I have tried like 5 times with different backgrounds and lightings and I think the photo I am clicking is good but every time I am getting rejection after a few hours and asking me to click the photo again.

please can someone help me tell what is the issue with my visual verification

I've been complaining about my inability to verify my account for one week now and no one has offered to help me 

I followed all the tips and guidelines but it's still not working 

i don't know if upwork doesn't recognize the Nigerian NIN slip or what 

It's very frustrating, please admins can you guys verify it manually or offer any sort of help

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble your experience while verifying your account. Based on the information you provided it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card or the type of ID was not acceptable.
 
The acceptable forms of ID vary by country and will be listed on the form.
  • This ID must include your picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address, with the exception of passports, which don't need your address
  • The documents we accept include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.
Note that we cannot accept:
  • Student IDs, employee IDs, library cards, handwritten IDs, temporary IDs, photocopied IDs, military IDs, and health cards.

 

Make sure to avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot or photos of your ID card taken from another device. You can refer to the tips section on this help page. Could you please try resubmitting the documents from the Settings page following the tips in the help article?

My profile name is incorrect how do I update it and how do I complete ID verification every time it is failing
