Locked Private Profile

Hi Team,

Please help me. My profile has been locked and private and dont know how and now i cant make it public.

Hi all,

 

If you are a new freelancer and don't earn money on Upwork within 90 days of your first proposal, or you choose not to submit a proposal within your first 90 days, your profile will change to private. 

 

When your profile is set to private it is not shown in freelancer search results but rest assured, clients are still able to see your profile when you submit proposals!

 

You can switch it back to public by simply logging out and back into your Upwork account again. Note: Your profile will be automatically reset to the visibility option you had. (The options are public, only to other Upwork users, or private.)

Hi, I have the same issue, my account shows a private profile and I cannot see any option to make it public again.
Perhaps I at least open my profile 2-3 times a week and I submitted 2 proposals in the last 4 days but they still locked my profile, I don't know why.

Hi, I have the same issue, my account shows a private profile and I cannot see any option to make it public again. If I make the change from one option showing me the issue. The issue is attached. Perhaps I at least opened my profile and I submitted 2 proposals today but they still locked my profile, I don't know why.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your profile visibility is now updated as per your request. Additionally, please note that your profile must represent you as an individual and that all the information in your profile including your profile photo needs to be accurate, truthful, and verifiable. Your profile photo should be a clear, headshot-style photo of you which is cropped from the top of your head, and just below your shoulders, and -

 

  • you are not wearing sunglasses in the photo;
  • it is not a logo or clip-art;
  • it is not a group photo; 
  • the photo was not digitally-altered

Hi Nikola.

I have been loggin in and out of my Upwork profile and it still visible as private.

I been reading and looking for ways to change it but it has been imposible.

Is there somewhere a direct email or contact information that I could use to please ask upwork to change my profile to public?

i have been struggling for months to change my profie visibility status from private to public but no mattter what i do, i can't seem to change the status. i don't see any scroll down menu to change the profiel visbility to public. i submitted a request here at the forum and some how miraculously, the profile status did change to public, but within 24 horus and after consuing at least 28 connects, the profile went to privat eagain, i reach out to the automated AI chat support and they say , submit a ticket direclty to support team and i have no way of reaching out to the support team, 

it's so frustrating. 

can any one please help me ?"

  1. Select Profile > Profile Settings
  2. Choose a visibility option from the dropdown menu

In case you need to access our support services in the future, it would be best to follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Help Center’s navigation bar and select the “Contact Support” option.
  2. Choose the “Chat with Upwork” option to initiate a conversation with our chatbot.
  3. Type in a question or topic and click “Send.” The chatbot will provide relevant articles related to your question.


We strongly encourage everyone to engage with the chatbot to access the available support options. Asking for assistance directly may not provide sufficient information for the chatbot to be able to assist you appropriately - for example, creating a ticket for you with the right team according to your concern.

This is not helpful.

you are giving me the same information that i already shared.

the profile setting doesn't give me a scroll down menu to select public
from private .

the chat bot is dead and doesn't know **Edited for Community Guidelines**!

it keeps telling me to contact support but never shows me how to get in
touch with the support team since the only after i have avaialble is a
stupid chat bot.

and i can't even submit a ticket,

so unless you can help me fix this, i am really frustrating and lost as to
how to solve this.

I checked your account and it appears that your profile is set as an Exclusive agency member. In this case, you will need to switch to your agency account and go to Find Work > Agency Roster to edit your profile visibility. 

 

For now, I have changed your profile visibility to Public. You can try the above steps to see if you are able to change your profile visibility yourself. Feel free to message us if you need further assistance.

I’d recommend discussing this with your agency owner or agency administrator as they can reset your profile visibility to “Public” from their end. You may also share this helpful link for more details about how to Manage the Agency Roster and Visibility.

You can't turn on this badge because your profile is set to private or unavailable.
Kindly set it to public

Hi Raheel! Log in to your Upwork account then click your profile, go to settings then find profile settings, once u find it click it then turn the visibility to public or upwork users if you want. that's all
